One thing that's clear: Getting a degree/education Moore can actually use is the last thing he's considering. This story is taking a sad turn.

I thought DePaul was a pretty good school. No?

I don't have any problem with him getting a free ride for 6 years, growing up and seeing the country. More power to him if those are the rules that we've established for ourselves.
Good on him.

From what I recall he is from the Chicago area.
. His excuse for transferring out of Cal was he wanted to be closer to his sick mother or father in the Chicago area.
. Well, he transferred from Cal to Kansas (yeah, right next door to Chicago!).
. When things did not work out in Kansas, he transferred to DePaul (now, that is actually in Chicago).
. And, now he is transferring to Miami which means either the ailing mother or father must not be sick anymore or…

Go Bears!

My folks grew up in Chicago and when time came for retirement they moved to Miami. Maybe Charlie's parents did the same!

Too bad we don't have Charlie Moore any longer. He would of been huge for this Cal team. Glad he is doing well. Big for his team against Duke.

Moore's skill set would be the perfect compliment to Joel Brown's.

Yes, he played 18 minutes and did not score.

Moore did not play as well in the conference season as he did in the preseason. All his numbers dropped some in conference, but I seem to remember he had an injury of some kind.

Moore was a better facilitator, better shot from distance, better finisher at the rim, better free throw shooter. Brown was much better defender, had great instinct for loose balls and rebounds, and was faster and quicker.

I think Moore would start if we had him today, with Brown backing him up, and could change the game, bringing speed and defense. I think Shepherd would still start at the shooting guard spot.

I have a friend who is a doctor in south Florida he says it was horrific, the ICUs overflowing. Retirement communities were devastated. Don't look at the official COVID deaths, they were surprised by DeSantis, look at the amount total deaths in Florida increased in 2020 and 2021 over previous years.

Would prefer to talk about Charlie Moore but you asked so here is the answer:

As of Jan. 27, more than 874,000 people in the U.S. had died after contracting COVID-19, according to The New York Times.
The Times used data from reports of coronavirus cases and deaths by U.S. states and counties. The database includes cases and deaths that have been identified by public health officials as probable coronavirus patients, which means they did not have confirmed tests for coronavirus infection but were evaluated using criteria developed by national and local governments. Read more about the data here.
Here is a breakdown of average daily COVID-19 deaths and COVID-19 deaths per 100,000 people over the last seven days in all 50 U.S. states and Washington, D.C. The data was last updated Jan. 27.

States ranked by COVID-19 death rates: Jan. 27

New York State
Deaths per 100,000: 1.02
Daily average deaths: 198.3

Florida

Deaths per 100,000: 0.37

I've downgraded my evaluation of Cuomo. Now instead favoring an ugly flamingo over Mario....I would favor a dead flamingo. DeSantis still isn't exactly a shining star.

He needs to clean things up a bit if he's taking on Trump.

Meanwhile.

UCLA 81 CAL 57 (Sam was our leading scorer with 11)
