So loose in fact that the when I went to CalSO freshman orientation, that's where they took us after dinner.
Ha, ha. I was a CalSO counselor the summer of '78 and I can verify the Comeback In was our go to night spot!
Well, I first went to the Come Back Inn when I was at CalSO in the summer of '78, so it was one of your fellow counselors, or perhaps you, who taught me about the place.
Was your counselor a really great guy who was a Business Major? Ha Ha!
More seriously I transferred to Cal as a Junior and although my father and many relatives were Alums I always felt like I was on the outside looking in until my experience as a CalSO Counselor. Met lots of great incoming students, got to see and hear some real campus icons like Marion Diamond and Alan Dundes and worked with great Counselors and Leadership such as Tom Trutner.
Go Bears!
CalSO is kind of a blur, perhaps because we went to the Come Back Inn. I vaguely remember my counselor seemed like a good guy (don't know if my parents would have agreed, after all, he took us underage people to the Come Back Inn), and was male, but I recall nothing else about him.
I was recently mentioning that I saw and heard Marion Diamond once, but I couldn't remember for the life of me when. Now the you mention it, it must have been CalSO in the summer of '78. I saw Dundes multiple times in my life, especially since I took his class (and he was a neighbor before I went to Cal and I was casually acquainted with his daughter). But Diamond I'm sure I only saw once in my life, and that must have been it.
