Do you think Michelle's injury is a concussion or a broken nose?
Doesn't appear to be either
Oh! She's OK??
yes
good news. I watched a replay about 10 times on IG, with a full speed replay with 3 angles, and a slow motion replay

it was a really strange play. it looked like Michelle reached and pinned one of Brink's arms, but Brink suddenly and violently through her body and head back. It seemed like a way over reaction to anything Michelle was doing.

My guess is it was a reach by Michelle, and Brink sold it as a foul by exaggerating (flopping).

I doubt Brink intentionally tried to head butt Michelle, but on the other hand in the second half she was in assault mode and the refs let her do it. Brink was seen in the hotel lobby with an ice pack on her right elbow as proof!

By the way, if you lean over a ball handler (from behind or in front) the risk of getting smashed in the face by a players head is real. It's happened to me several times and I thought I broke my nose once (a Pac12 ref might call a cylindar foul on you too!).

I understand that many players exaggerate contact, flop, etc, and I don't like it.

I hate even more when a player intentionally gets their arms tangled in a defender and then fakes a foul like Brink did.

Can the refs add a reactionary foul to the player being fouled? If Brink was retaliating or reacting in a violent mode, shouldn't that also be called?

I'll admit, I missed the game. Damned job! I saw afterwards Cal had a good first half and the second half was another story. I looked at the box score and saw Michelle only played slightly over 11 minutes but with only 2 fouls, so I assumed an injury. She was the only Cal player with a + rating.

This team won 18 games with the talent they have plus went 7-11 in a pretty tough conference. I enjoy watching this team play, even with their limitations.

I think both the Cal men and women's team did well in the portal. The men have been actually watchable even though they're limited too. Where would the women's team be without the players they picked up?

I hope this team gets the benefit of postseason play. It would be a nice ending for Leilani and the others who have endured some tough seasons.

There will be ten WBB teams in our conference that will be over-the-moon happy that they won't have any more annual losses to Furd every year. Sadly we won't be one of them.
