Lulu gets tomahawked on drive to the hoop and the ref just looks at it. Horrible. And Shocky , just because there's a game where the refs aren't calling it even, it doesn't necessarily mean the have a "bias" against one team. Sometimes they're just plain bad.
I don't understand why Charmin doesn't just change the way we use Marta. She isn't as effective as a point forward as she would be if we put her down in the block.
Yes, they are equally bad for both teams. But that can really hurt us, when we are so reliant on dominant and aggressive inside play.

michelle also went into a vertical blocking position on a wildcat drive to the bucket, there wuz a lotta lower body contact but no foul
it wuz clearly a foul on onyiah, if the refs call this 3rd foul on her, the 2nd half outlooks looks quite a big different
the refs are not the issue re: the cal wbb & have never been the issue

Why do these announcers feel like they chose to cheer against Cal in both games in this tournament? They seemed to be in the bag for both Michigan State and now UA.

I hope Marta takes this the right way - she needs to be better. And she's fully capable. She just needs to understand her limitations. Only 19 minutes, not in the closing lineup and the only Bear that was a minus. This should get her attention.
Kayla had a nice line...except for the 5 TOs. She too has to make better decisions but some of those happen because sometimes her teammates don't give her timely options.
The team as a whole has to get better with limiting TOs.

It appears that Cal dominated inside because Arizona's top scorer and rebounder, 6-4 Cunningham, DNP! Onyiah took advantage as high scorer and rebounder of the game. Bears won at the free throw line. The Wildcat's defense forced 21 turnovers and held 3 of the Bear's 4 double-digit scorers on the season to single digit points. For the third consecutive game, they shutdown Krimili. She only had a single basket!

I disagree. It was a flop IMO. No one falls with the upper part of one's body first like that. Kayla didn't hit her hard enough for that type of reaction. I wouldn't have called anything there.Shocky1 said:

u might need to get to america's best if u thought that violent collision ignited by kayla wuz a flop...but if ur just a homer who thinks the refs are corrupt on every questionable call that's ur prerogative
Let me clue you in. Arizona was determined not to let our 3 point shooters go hog wild. What Charmin did was switch to a 4 guard lineup that was able to negotiate several good lobs into Michele. Michele scored the points, but in the half court offense our guards looked sharp on their passing more often than not.Schroeder71 said:

We have played eight games, won seven, and have had only one really bad quarter out of 32. I see progress. And when one player has a bad game or is game-planned against, we have options, including with some developing bench players.
The biggest issue is Marta. She is trying to play beyond her skill level. I doubt you can simply coach that out of her. It is going to have to come from within.
Can we beat highly-ranked Alabama? I doubt it. But that's what upsets are for.

I think that you have it reversed. Arizona's best player, their center, did not play so the Wildcats used a four guard lineup. Charmin Smith responded to their lineup and that is probably why Ackerman did not play and Suarez was not needed to rebound. I haven't watched the game yet but the Bears had 21 turnovers that led to 25 Wildcat points. How can you state that our guards looked sharp on their passing with horrific stats like that? Cal has in excess of 20 turnovers for at least the last four consecutive games.
Ackerman is banged up. She didn't play well last game.
total flop, obvious to anyone with vision. yes, there was some contact and maybe a foul on Cal, but she never extended her arms once they came together. the true dumb azz was the wildcat who flopped so hard she was in concussion protocol.
