The season is about one-quarter over and Twidale is shooting 23.1% from three.
This is a major concern. If she doesn't start shooting better, she needs to start shooting less.
Puff looks like a freshman point guard trying to adjust to the next level up. Right now, she's ineffective, but we have to stick with her.
Turnovers are very difficult to control. You can avoid turnovers by making safe passes. But safe passes won't generate offense. What does generate offense is the ability to beat defenders off the dribble. When that happens, the defense must help, passing lanes open up and safe passes can be made to wide-open shooters.
I don't have time to watch much, so tell me: Have Cal perimeter players shown the ability to break down P4 defenders off the dribble?
The only player who can consistently do that is Mjracle. Lulu sometimes when defenders are tight. And yes, Puff still has work to do. There's things here that Puff can't get away with like she did in high school.
As far as Lulu reducing her 3 point shooting, I don't agree. She's a great shooter, we need to keep her shooting, but the real task is to have the offense get here more open looks.
