I'm surprised the WBB full schedule has been announced already, but they haven't even announced the MBB non-conference schedule yet.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: the communications for our Women's Basketball program are phenomenal.
We don't even have bios for the entire volleyball team. We have broken links on the schedule. Softball had the wrong coaching staff listed for nearly two months.

Meanwhile, this program gets information out to fans FAST. Everything is updated almost instantaneously.
Bravo.

Question: Are we not playing our annual exhibition game against Westmont or Vanguard or whoever? It seems we've had such a game for as long as I can remember, usually around Halloween or November 1.

Rumor has it that we are going to have a scrimmage with UCLA on 10/14.

Coach Cori Close mentioned it to a Bruins WBB fan group (their equivalent of Golden Circle) on a Zoom call last month. Presumably it's happening down there.

(My brother is a UCLA grad and was on that call.)

Thank you for posting that video. Great interviews! I'm proud to have Charmin, Lulu and Gisella representing Cal WBB on the big stage!

Go Bears!!

The interview was quite enjoyable. It sounds as if this could be a repeat of the 2024-25 season with the four starters returning...The Bears went 25-9 with five starters averaging in double figures. GO BEARS!

In case you are interested, Zahra King was one of SMU's interviewees.

That was so great!! Of all the newcomers, was surprised that Lulu cited Ruby Perkins??

In video clips she appears to have a crazy high motor and seems to be an intelligent passer. My big worry was strength…but nothing a proper college strength training program can't fix. Excited to see her in action.

I love high-motor players. Brittany Boyd and Gennifer Brandon are my all-time Cal favorites. Then going way back we had Jackie Lear, also from Australia.

Look how much Lulu's game has developed since she arrived as a first year. The key is that the players have the patience with themselves and the program to allow that development to happen. I feel good about our overseas players in this regard because I think choosing a school/program in the U.S. requires different considerations for most. I'm really excited about this entire team.

You're right about patience. Too many of the American freshies we recruited didn't have enough patience to improve before they could play at this level so they transferred out.
