This game doesn't seem to have Live Stats available. I do not subscribe to it and I have nothing to do with it. I'm sure that you must be kidding, right? The score is 3-0 after two innings. Flo College or Flo Softball is the service that must be paid for the data streaming of all of these games.

Cal falls apart defensively in the 3rd. Marshall could have tagged the runner off of third base but she throws it into the ground to the backstop for an error. Before that Phillips couldn't handle a ground ball. Now, Alyssa Herrera allows a fly ball to centerfield to go over her head to the fence. To the best of my knowledge, she has never played CF before.Herrera is a backup catcher & DH. Ashanti McDade doesn't have it once again although I don't know that she was hit that hard. The defense fails to make plays behind their pitchers.

Ryann Orange comes in for relief with only one out and two on and strikes out back-to-back hitters to preserve Cal's precarious 3-2 lead.

This is Seattle's ace, Nicola Simpson, with a 0.97 ERA pitching in the B3rd. She is a transfer from Tennessee a year ago. She attended Garfield HS in Seattle, WA. Simpson has pitched for the Canada's national team.

I'm outta here. This pitcher will shut down the Bears. I'm not enjoying this game. GO BEARS!

Yeah I didn't mean you S71. I'm just frustrated because it's very nutty classics just got their hand out just like that float softball have to pay the money to see who's transferring how come I don't have to pay money to see men's college hoop or football players transferring I don't understand that.

Early in the season, Ryann Orange has earned the position as the #2 pitcher on the Cal staff. Excellent save.

Loyola Marymount is coming up and they've struggled with a 3-9 record. I would imagine that the game will be left to the two seniors, Anna Reimers & Annabel Teperson. I think that Chelsea Spencer needs to give Harmony Andrade an opportunity to earn back the third base job. Nailyn Marshall is not good defensively there. Her hitting is ok, but I would like to see how the highly touted freshman recruit will fare with an couple of dozen ABs. Harmony lost her starting job after two hitless games. I believe that she went hitless (0 for 7) and struck out three times. Andrade needs more chances than that. Willie Mays was 0-13 as a rookie for goodness sakes!

Big win.

One game at a time.... but if we can turn this ship around and finish the week 4-2 that would be huge.

I missed Phillip's triple to start the inning but then Cal looked terrible failing to get her home. Marshall jumped to try to bunt a rise ball and popped it up to the catcher. Then Holly Medina hit a squibber for an out & Quiroga struck out swinging. Holly Medina has hit one ball out of the infield this season. Bear's offense is really not scoring a lot of runs these days. Marshall is convincing me more and more that Harmony Andrade needs another chance.

We have two homerun hitting corners coming in next year.

Interested to see if either of them can get the starting nod. Sam (Firecrackers) was ranked #2 in her class at one point.

I must give credit when it is due. Nailyn Marshall just made consecutive plays at third base that got the team out of a bases loaded and no out situation. She started a home to 1st base double play and then closed out the inning with a 5-3 putout. Marshall must have felt me writing this because she just homered to centerfield to make it 5-0. I think that she is telling me that she wants to keep her job at the hot corner.

Holly Medina gets on via a walk but then is thrown out stealing. Where's the speed that stole all those high school bases?

Harmony Andrade got to pinch hit with the bases loaded but patiently took four balls for an RBI walk. Then Carly Raven pinch hits and clears the bases with nice timing on a change-up. She doubles off of the CF fence. Bears run rule LMU, 10-0 in the B5th. GO BEARS!

Regarding Stanford, most of their everyday lineup returns with experience. I think that is why they're generating more offense than most of us expected.

Run rule win. If we knock off Northwestern tomorrow we leave 10-4 with a very easy schedule next week.

We should give Raven more chances. She's quite versatile.

Miranda De Nava KO'd after two-thirds of an inning after yielding two monster HRs to trail 3-0. She had no pitches that could get by the Northwestern batters. They only average 2.9 runs per game and surpassed that quickly. De Nava had terrible body language on the mound which indicated that she did not want to be there.

Instead of bring in Annabel Teperson in relief, they bring in Ryann Orange again. She has already made three appearances in the Mary Nutter Classic including both games yesterday.

Quiroga walked and went to 3rd on a single by Anders. She was nearly thrown out again on the bases. It was a bang-bang play. Then, Pond hit a sac fly to LF and some Wildcat players thought that she left early. Fortunately, their HC did not protest. Score: 3-1 NW

Orange hits a batter and then their leadoff hitter, Nieto, bunts for a single. Then another HBP to load the bases with one out. Sac fly to deep CF to make it 4-1. Passed ball on Quiroga and it's 5-1. Another line drive base hit to make it 6-1. Northwestern had a team batting average of .229 and they are scoring at will vs Cal. Another walk contributed by Orange (plus 2 HBPs).

Ashanti McDade enters the fray and I surrender. This is pathetic. I don't agree with the coaching decisions being made in this game. Northwestern had only scored six runs in three games entering today's game and they've doubled their output in two innings vs Cal's pitching staff. I'm outta here.

S71- Cal's just rallied to score 7 runs and is now up 8 to 6. Is this still "pathetic"? At some point do you ever think to yourself "man, I suck as a fan"?

I recommend therapy for you if you've never gone. It would do wonders for you and your pessimistic attitude. It seems like such an awful way to live life.

Thanks, CF, I love you, too. Did you watch the initial two innings? Cal had a nice rally but six of the runs were unearned and the Bears have one extra-base hit for its 8 runs.

. Wow I'm impressed. I checked the Massey rating for the first schedule when they were 9 and 0 and the lo and behold their schedule rating was 208. For comparison ours at that time was 18. Furds were mainly playing all of the UC schools UC Riverside Davis Sacramento State, Fresno State you get the drill. They lost one to Arizona and they played them later tonight I think.
I myself didn't expect for furds to be this good after losing Canady. I'm told that coach Spencer and Canady dad had a meeting and possibly money was put on a table. Apparently he shook his head no. TT is hitting 275 only. With 2 homers. I don't think they're going to Omaha they're offenses isn,'t good enough. The furd are going to Omaha for sure they've got it all they have 27 homers in like 12 games. Only giving up like five errors in the same amount. Don't get me wrong I'd love to think they're really overrated hopefully they lose to Arizona.

You really give up too early S71. This team has tremendous hitting and being down by only five runs in second inning is too little to worry about.
We need to improve our d little and our base running but for the most part I think we're going to steamroll a lot of teams.

Cal just gave up another run in the B1st versus Southern Utah. Elon Butler is really putting on the pressure to become a worse base runner than Lagi Quiroga. Butler tripled home Quiroga (walk) but tried to score on an infield groundout to 2B with NO OUTS and was thrown out at home. I hope that Chelsea Spencer did not send her. Kaylee Pond, who leads the NCAA with four sacrifice flies entering the game, followed with a fly out to LF.

It seems evident that live stats will be available for these five games. I hope that the two Fresno State games will be available from their website via the Mountain West Network. The first one is this afternoon at 3 pm.

Bears go up 2-0 in the B2nd on a HR by Tianna Bell. Nailyn Marshall doubled but was thrown out at third base trying to stretch it to a triple. Does anyone realize that opposing pitchers only have to get two batters out per inning while Cal gets themselves out on the bases for the third out? Something is wrong with this coaching staff that they cannot correct this frequent problem. I have never seen a situation like this before in my lifetime of watching sports. I'll be 76 in March.

Mika Lee singled to plate Mia Phillips in the B4th but was caught stealing second base for the final out. Cal 3-0

In the B5th, Quiroga led off w/ a single and Butler connected on a two-run homer to make it 5-0 Bears. Elon-that's the way to solve your base running problem!

Mia Phillips just finished the game with a three-run double to trigger the mercy rule (8-0) in B5th. go bears!

"Something is wrong with this coaching staff that they cannot correct this frequent problem. I have never seen a situation like this before in my lifetime of watching sports. I'll be 76 in March."

If the coaches thought the base running was a problem, they would have corrected it. Since they have not, you should probably assume that the 'run amok' approach is intentional and that the coaches understand something about playing the game that you do not.

The Fresno State game is on the MWN right now. Fresno State is 7-6. Cal is going with Ashanti McDade in the circle. FSU is pitching a true freshman. Bears erupt in the second inning for four runs on five singles.

In the T3rd, Cal adds on w/ four more runs with two hit batters and five more singles. Bears should have had another run, but Tianna Bell got picked off third on a double steal attempt. Bulldogs only got two hitters out. Cal has 8 runs on 10 hits after three innings.

Fresno State responds with a 5 spot on 5 singles + a walk plus two fielder's choice plays by Cal infielders that did not result in an out. Ten Bulldog batters came to the plate in the bottom of the 3rd against McDade. Suffice it to say, the Bear's infield defense leaves a lot to be desired.
