Great News! Glad to see Cal's Women's Gymnastics program is not losing momentum. However, we still have a small group of gymnasts overall and hoping Geralen Stack-Eaton & her new coaches have a few more surprises in store for this team and Cal fans! Good early results in just a short time.

They have had the 2026 roster up for awhile but none of the freshmen have been listed yet. Just want to confirm that the 3 recruits are here. Any additional recruits.

I could not find Laura Scott. Tonya Paulsson is referenced in the article below as attending Cal.

started off impressively on the bars. Great start for the year.

After 2 rotations Cal leading 98.3 to UCLA 98.225.

We didn't do well in the floor and looks like UCLA has taken a commanding lead after 3 rotation.

Last year the floor was one of our strengths but loss lots due to transfers and grads.

Cal was 1st in Uneven Bars, 2nd in Vault, 3rd in Floor Exercise, 4th in Balance Beam

Bears are not on the same level this season as the last four or so. Two events had zero 9.9 scores and the other two had one each. Cal had one or two exhibition scores on every event, too, so the team registered 7 or 8 scores on each event. UCLA's Olympian, Jordan Chiles, hit 9.9 or above on all four events.

Soph Ondine Achampong DNP. She supposedly is our top gymnast. Is she injured, again? Cal used 11 gymnasts from the team's 16-member roster in the 4-way meet this afternoon.

Newman-Achee & Melkonian were the most consistent gymnasts for the Bears today with three scores each of 9.8 or higher. Unfortunately, they both had difficulty on floor exercise, registering scores in the 9.6+ range.

I didn't pay for the Big 10+ either. I heard they didn't focus on any other squad except for the Big 10 ones.

I didn't see the meet. Only thing i'll say is not bad considering all the experience they lost.

There is internet speculation that Ondine is hurt. I won't post what they saying. She didn't compete in intrasquad in December but from the training videos it does seem like she is still training in December. Maybe she has tweaked something and they want to make sure she able to compete during the ACC season.

Hopefully the next meeting is more accessible. I think last year the next meet was also a pay stream. Sigh. The rest of the meets should be covered by ACC Network.
