Russia took a good dent: 800,010 killed and wounded (198,000 killed, 550,000+ wounded).

Russia is now arguably the most experienced, battle-tested, and equipped military on the planet. And we tested our new toys, targeting, and logistics.

Do you think Trump could tell the CIA and MIC 'no' on Ukraine? Tell NATO to stop helping Ukraine?

Who actually runs the CIA, not the figurehead? What is their goal in Ukraine - defeat Putin and carve Russia up? Make President Trump look bad, and enrich themselves while testing out new toys?

Sure looks like your boy Douglas Macgregor is taking a "backseat".
You and Putin88 must be CRUSHED.

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) is signaling he's ready to go with a bill imposing harsh sanctions on Russia that has more than 80 co-sponsors. Given Moscow's reticence over peace talks, momentum seems to be growing for taking a more aggressive posture backing sanctions.

The Wall Street Journal editorial board called for a Senate GOP revolt on sanctions, but that might not even be necessary: Trump said Sunday he would "absolutely" consider the move.

That shift marks a "new peak of disappointment" for retired Army Col. Douglas Macgregor a favorite analyst of Tucker Carlson who had a brief stint as a Pentagon adviser in the first Trump administration. Macgregor, a staunch anti-interventionist, advocates for dropping Russian sanctions completely rather than imposing more, and argues the U.S. national strategic interests do not conflict with Russia's.

So round 18 of the Russian sanctions then. Will it make much more of an impact than the first 17 rounds did... doubtful.

And more of the Lindsay Graham "to the last Ukrainian" macabre MIC geopolitical play - another half million Ukrainian KIAs before the dust settles and the new borders drawn, further west.

That's just great.

MacGregor says the Ukrainians may be collapsing, and heavy losses can occur. With no peace deal, Russia takes Odessa?

CM says Poland ready to push the 3 Million Ukrainian refugees out, so maybe Z gets a few body bags there.

They'll go to Germany, Hungary or even Russia if they're booted out of Poland.

Kharkov and Sumy would be the cities to watch this year, both cities are near the Russian border, well within the stated "buffer zone" Putin recently claimed. Kharkov is the 2nd largest city in Ukraine, mostly Russian-speaking.

My opinion is that Macgregor would say "Russia is going to win anyway, give them what they want" no matter what was going on.

He'd be right about Russia winning. The longer this drags, the more dead Ukrainians and the smaller their negotiation margin.

DeeDub, it's pretty impressive that, even though you don't seem to be much of a Macgregor fan (nor am I), you still manage to spell his name correctly. First and last names!

Interesting. The drones look small, no payload? So maybe they target the fuel tanks on these airplanes.

Russia's military "power" is a joke.
You and MacGregor have been so wrong you might as well be the same person.
Ukraine has exposed them to the entire world as one of the weakest military forces on the planet.

Ukraine's Security Service (SBU) reported on Sunday that over a third of all Russian missile carriers have been hit in a coordinated drone attack aimed at different airfields in Russia located thousands of kilometres apart.

More than 40 aircraft are known to have been hit, including the A-50, Tu-95, and Tu-22 M3, causing overall damage of more than 6 billion.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said "Operation Spiderweb" had made "an absolutely brilliant result" which was "achieved solely by Ukraine."

Colonel MacGregor has been largely correct, some timing might be off. Some argue, including MacGregor, that Russia prioritized people over land, and Putin decided to move more deliberately as not to enter a direct full frontal war w NATO.

Russia appears to be taking ground more quickly now. Four cunning strikes doesn't change the overall calculus. Ukraine is running threadbare on troops, ammunition, and both the EU and USA haven't dramatically increased their manufacturing capabilities. We've nearly tapped out the worldwide stockpile of ammunition, while Russia has received nine million rounds from their backstop (North Korea / China).

Convenient timing to prevent progress on peace.

'Operation Spiderweb': How Ukraine destroyed over a third of Russian bombers
'

It was Ukraine's biggest win since the sinking of the Moskva cruiser in the Black Sea. This being said, the damage claims were overstated by a factor of 3, they destroyed or damaged about 1/10th of the Russian bomber fleet (see below). Still a very large number for one operation. This was most likely put together with the help of the Brits and NATO.

The Tu-95 "Bear" are old models similar to the B-52 which are no longer in production, same with the Tu-22s, but the Tu-160s, which are similar to the B-1 are currently in production again and the Russians have 50 planes on order.

Putin is asking for an "Istanbul Plus" type of settlement, basically all the demands that the Ukrainians were very close to sign on in April 22, but with roughly the current borders.

Ukraine will reject this offer, and the war will go on...
