You think this right wing lunacy is isolated to 1 country? Where do you think this comes from? You don't think all the transphobic hysteria we see on this site isn't related?

Let's not lose sight this happened at a sports competition. When you all hyperfixate your transphobia on these sporting events this is what you are causing. Sheer derangement in which innocent kids are the victims and transgender people are forced into hiding.

He got re-elected twice in a Blue State.
He got a lot of things done. Knows how to work with people.

No, the lunacy is not limited to one country. Calling the parents of a 9 year old a groomer and pedophile because she has short hair is wrong. This doesn't mean we can't be against biological men taking opportunities away from biological women because they need to switch genders and play sports. Thanks.

You can be against it but in a respectable, non hysterical manner. The way it is playing out is inducing mass hysteria over a minor issue that is causing attacks on the entire transgender community and other innocents. It's not an accident either. It's the design. You are complicit.

True.
And I would suggest that a 9 year old girl isnt taking any opportunities away.
In high school, it's an entirely different matter . . . and at some point I would think that the State of California is going to have to re-visit its gender identity law from 2013 (AB-1266) given that it is a violation of the spirt of Title IX. Either that, or the CIF is gonna have to stop being so passive and actually allow for an "Open" division for transgender high school athletes.
At this years CIF State Track & Field Championships, two transgender girls did not compete because of the "backlash" on social media. Interestingly enough, a biological girl (cis) who was an alternate to the State Meet ouf of the North Coast Section did not compete either in her event (1600m). At the NCS Meet, she had come in 4th, one position from qualifying for the State Meet and a transgender "girl" (who had been running on the boys team at Sonoma Academy in 2021) had come in 2nd. Top 3 go to State.
The stupidity here hurts BOTH sides.
There are no winners.
But if the CIF creates an OPEN division (such as the divisions that they already have for "Unified" and "Para" athletes), this whole issue goes away.
It's sad, but the SF Chronicle had a terribly biased "take" in this regard in their "coverage" of this year's CIF State Mee down in Clovis. - - - And that's largely due to the fact that their chief Sports Editor is trans.

Hang on. Do you really think there will be enough trans athletes to make an "Open" division viable? In any sport?DiabloWags said:oski003 said:

Ok, I will take you off ignore.
Thanks for the compliment.
The fact remains . . . that there arent nearly enough trans athletes to have their own Division.
This is why the CIF simply lays back and does nothing more than follow AB-1266.
I'm hoping that things will change in the future, on both these counts.
Because I'm all for participation in one of the greatest prep sports
that there is. It's one of the few co-ed sports that there is and
it helps kids develop social skills and friendships.
But it's wrong because it winds up hurting BOTH sides.
And it's clearly a violation of the spirit of Title IX.
So my suggestion is for the CIF to stop ***** footing around and create an Open Division.
There really is something to be said for, "Build it and they will come."
In this way we get to celebrate diversity in an inclusive fashion.
And also protect the rights of girls under Title IX . . . who are competing at the highest level with an opportunity for an athletic scholarship.
