Nine GOP candidates already. Nine! Some of whom I'd never even heard of before they announced. This is going to be a real riot the next fourteen months! (unless, of course, one of the clowns actually gets elected, in which case it will be a real nightmare)

We all know that the national socialists are democrats. Like, doy!
This just in: Republicans find another whistleblower who claims Hillary's emails were proven to be on Hunter's laptop while Obama spied on tRump as he sat (shat?) upon his golden toilet. Gym Jordan afraid whistle blower may be in danger of abduction by aliens in cahoots with Democrats.

So, you have nothing meaningful to say about GOP controlled states withdrawing from ERIC.

Chris Christie sounded like 5th degree black belt compared to a nothing but spoiled brat (trump) on the CNN town hall just now.

My goodness!
What a difference!!!

I'm better trump doesn't survive this! (And hopefully I'm speaking literally, too!)

Not surprised, they're all grifters. On the bright side, they are just saving these idiots from throwing their money away on either dumber things like right wing coffee or tactical t shirts or what have you.

If we've learned one thing from the Trump experience it's none of these people will ever face any negative repercussions from scamming gullible old conservatives.

Christie is the Real Deal.

He got re-elected twice in a Blue State.
He got a lot of things done. Knows how to work with people.

There are 332 million people in the U.S. There certainly are idiots. However, this story is from Canada.

You think this right wing lunacy is isolated to 1 country? Where do you think this comes from? You don't think all the transphobic hysteria we see on this site isn't related? Calling the parent of a 9 year old a groomer and pedo right in front of the girl because she has short hair?

Let's not lose sight this happened at a sports competition. When you all hyperfixate your transphobia on these sporting events this is what you are causing. Sheer derangement in which innocent kids are the victims and transgender people are forced into hiding.

No, the lunacy is not limited to one country. Calling the parents of a 9 year old a groomer and pedophile because she has short hair is wrong. This doesn't mean we can't be against biological men taking opportunities away from biological women because they need to switch genders and play sports. Thanks.

Saw my 82 year old father last night.
He was very excited after watching as well.

I would have a hard time seeing someone who boosted Trump win, but Trump is an historic bad guy and DeSantis is a complete pr'ck. So, absolutely he's better than either of them.

I liked how he took responsibility for BridgeGate and said it would not happen again.

"Loser, Loser, Loser" was a well rehearsed line that stuck with Dad.

You can be against it but in a respectable, non hysterical manner. The way it is playing out is inducing mass hysteria over a minor issue that is causing attacks on the entire transgender community and other innocents. It's not an accident either. It's the design. You are complicit.

True.
And I would suggest that a 9 year old girl isnt taking any opportunities away.

In high school, it's an entirely different matter . . . and at some point I would think that the State of California is going to have to re-visit its gender identity law from 2013 (AB-1266) given that it is a violation of the spirt of Title IX. Either that, or the CIF is gonna have to stop being so passive and actually allow for an "Open" division for transgender high school athletes.

At this years CIF State Track & Field Championships, two transgender girls did not compete because of the "backlash" on social media. Interestingly enough, a biological girl (cis) who was an alternate to the State Meet ouf of the North Coast Section did not compete either in her event (1600m). At the NCS Meet, she had come in 4th, one position from qualifying for the State Meet and a transgender "girl" (who had been running on the boys team at Sonoma Academy in 2021) had come in 2nd. Top 3 go to State.

A girl from Campolindo in Moraga that had come in 3rd at NCS and qualified for State, dropped the 1600m in order to concentrate on the 3200m. This opened up a spot for the 1st alternate, the "cis" girl. But she did not compete at State. The reasons are unclear, but I can imagine "backlash" on social media played a part as well.

The stupidity here hurts BOTH sides.
There are no winners.

But if the CIF creates an OPEN division (such as the divisions that they already have for "Unified" and "Para" athletes), this whole issue goes away.

It's sad, but the SF Chronicle had a terribly biased "take" in this regard in their "coverage" of this year's CIF State Mee down in Clovis. - - - And that's largely due to the fact that their chief Sports Editor is trans.

I generally agree with this post. Glad you are posting with this personality as opposed to the one that blasted me a few weeks ago for daring to propose there were enough trans athletes to have their own division. You outright mocked and clowned me for it like a complete jerk. I like this personality better.

Ok, I will take you off ignore.
Thanks for the compliment.

The fact remains . . . that there arent nearly enough trans athletes to have their own Division.
This is why the CIF simply lays back and does nothing more than follow AB-1266.
I'm hoping that things will change in the future, on both these counts.
Because I'm all for participation in one of the greatest prep sports
that there is. It's one of the few co-ed sports that there is and
it helps kids develop social skills and friendships.

But it's wrong because it winds up hurting BOTH sides.
And it's clearly a violation of the spirit of Title IX.

So my suggestion is for the CIF to stop ***** footing around and create an Open Division.
There really is something to be said for, "Build it and they will come."

In this way we get to celebrate diversity in an inclusive fashion.
And also protect the rights of girls under Title IX . . . who are competing at the highest level with an opportunity for an athletic scholarship.
