How about the bus driver, and whatever other hired individuals on the bus, actually opening the bus door and saying "get out" in the cold and such.

You see, when you advertise yourself as a sanctuary city, then don't be upset with those cities and states who don't want open borders ship them to your home.

Ok, I understand the emotional appeal to some of that argument. What is the emotional appeal part of busing poor people in summer clothing into extremely cold weather conditions?

Immigrants crossed into our border seeking food, clothes, and shelter. Our border state was unwilling to provide such. They were, however, willing to transport them to an area of the country that would provide such as well as protect them from deportation. They contacted that area ahead of time and dropped them off outside an empty or nearly empty 15 bedroom estate. That doesn't sound terrible. I think this happens 2-3 times per month. I am assuming the transportation provided food and heat and DC was told ahead of the dropoff.

The government gives them enough money to pay for the food, shelter, and clothing to hold the immigrants illegally crossing the border? How does catch and release play into this? Do they have the funds to deport those who crossed illegally? Are they allowed to deport those who crossed illegally? Why were there pictures of kids in cages taken during the Obama, Trump, and Biden administrations? Is that humane? Will they be humanely treated in D.C.? Are they being put out on the street?

Well, the hope is idiot democrats wake the fk up and stop allowing an open border and making it impossible to deport people who break our laws. That would be a good start. Stopping chain migration would cut out the unaccompanied minor problem as well.

An open border with millions of apprehensions per year? How is that open?

The real truth is that Congress has been punting on this issue for decades, and no it's not just the Democrats at fault for that. Republicans want to keep it a problem so they can keep campaigning on it.

what does apprehensions have anything to do with it? They're in the country, it's done. They get a court date that they won't show up to and disappear into the country. Also absolutely its a bi-partisan problem.

So 40% don't show lol out of millions we're talking now. Also doesn't account for the people that didn't present to border enforcement. In 2021, CBP officials guessed at 1,000 gotaways per day, meaning at least 360k a year. So we are near a million people per year illegally entering the country.

Um, the report I linked to shows that 83% do show up, and those who don't are probably trying to. If you're making your court dates then you're not "illegal," at least not yet.

The real issue is that the process is byzantine and inefficient. Congress could do something about it.

What do high skilled immigrant tech workers have to do with Greg Abbott's busing of border crossers to D.C. or anything said in this thread?

Yes, allowing border crosses to work in America would reduce wages and therefore reduce the cost of goods / inflation.

Sure, someone who doesn't want large amounts of unskilled people coming through our border daily may be xenophobic and also not want legal skilled immigration, but that's a stretch. We aren't having a conversation about immigration of people America actually wants to recruit.
