Both of the attacks in Texas were carried out by Hispanic men with tattoos indicating an affiliation with the prison gang "Tango Blast". Estimated membership: 19,000.

I guess we figured out the problem here. It's not guns. It's Hispanic men!

Thank you, Governor Abbott!

The more legal guns we have in circulation the harder it may be to keep them out of the hands of criminals. It may be harder closer to Mexico since we have an open border to Mexico. We can do a better job with reasonable gun laws and immigration policy.

It is for a reason… that's the rub

This country was born/founded on savage violence… if I had a home country I would not be here.

Pointless.

Didn't kill for greed, revenge, a political cause or any other reason. Just killed to kill.

You have to be really checked out to decide you want to just go kill a bunch of strangers for no reason.

Go kill yourself and leave other people alone.

Looks like more and more Hispanic men are becoming right wing radicals. When I heard about tRump's bump in that voting demographic I wasn't surprised. I'm in the central valley and see quite a few Hispanic MAGAs. The only political issue they are concerned about is their right to own guns. And their susceptibility to right wing propaganda is disturbing.

I don't believe this is a fair representation.

The Hispanic community in general is socially conservative, with many of them viewing their Catholic faith as one of the strongest element of their identity. To minimize their background as just gun-loving culture is to miss the mark, I believe.

In addition, many have escaped from failed socialist or communist regime and often carry a strong dislike for what they view as the same shade of those policies (even if the main culprit was the lack of Democracy in their respective countries).

Our country is too much into false sense or idea of freedom.

There can be no freedom with absolute civil rights but only anarchy.

We need more gun control and more education on, and mandated confinement of, those with dangerous mental illness.

I understand the potential overreach in both cases, but what is happening now is not any better.

Just common sense, utilitarian society where majority of the population will not continually be put in mortal danger as a result of some fear of infringement of absolute rights.

I have to say that I'm pretty sure this is an AI generated image.

Just checked my camera roll: The pic was following our first win, 12/21, against mighty Texas-Arlington. I will say one thing about last season... it was probably the first time ever that I attended every single one of our victories, home (3) + away (0)!

That's correct. I was initally confused because I had thought that BigC was not right wing, but there are so many users with similar names and, because of laziness on my part, I did not bother. I admit that I rarely check posting histories and never do to see if someone is being sarcastic. I'm just too lazy for that kind of thing. Usually I can detect sarcasm but BigC was really good with his characterization, don't you think?

I had thought I was being over-the-top enough ("commies") that everyone would know I was kidding, but, as I was tapping "Post", it did dawn on me that some people actually write that stuff... and mean it.

For the record, I am self-described as a "Jerry Brown/Bill Maher liberal".

Can there be a more cowardly act than gunning down unarmed men, women and children? If you are a psycho, aspire to be a Baller. Go out with your Big Boy underwear on, outnumbered and shooting at professionals that are shooting back like these two guys did (I think they were inspired by the Bobby D/Val Kilmer shootout on Figueroa in Heat):

If I know I am going out I am going to borrow a really nice car, rob a bank, hire a stripper to do some blow with, go beat up someone that wronged me, and then pay Donald Trump a visit. Maybe I will even get away with it if I am lucky. Shooting up a mall or, worse, a school is just pathetic. It literally accomplishes nothing. It's not even fun.

No more people who should be in a nursing home instead of the White House. I think everyone wants anyone but Biden or Trump. Well, you must be thinking about a religion other than Christianity.

The Great Commission, from Matthew 28:16-20, is a commandment directly from Jesus to share the gospel. We don't get to pick and choose what we want to obey and what we don't. God is not there for us to edit and shape in our own image. That edited god is some other god and not the one true Christian God.

As Jesus said, if you are ashamed of me, I will be ashamed of you in front of My Father.

So, no I am not kidding. And there is no born again and non-born again Christians. If you are not born again, you are not a Christian. You have to die to yourself and to the world and be reborn in Him. That is what born again means and that is what it means to be Christian. Not some Trump version of "I never asked for forgiveness because i haven't done anything wrong." Being born again and obeying the Great Commission are basic parts of the gospel.

Yes, Catholics are mostly non proselytizing, which I prefer, because I think it is offensive and patronizing when someone tries to convert you to their faith. It is a different matter if they are interested in your religion and ask you questions.

An Evangelical once hard pressed me with his sales pitch. I told him Catholicism is in my DNA, move on.

Interestingly enough, Bill Maher is a proselytizing atheist.

I think Biden's done a good job all around. My only problem with him in 2024 is his age. It would be one thing if he was 70 now, gonna turn 75 in five years, but 80 going on 85? At what point does that put somebody on the Road to Dianne Feinstein? (who would've been great if she had just called it quits after her previous term)
