Closing arguments in the Fani Willis disqualification hearing were held on Friday. Jeffrey Clark's lawyer, Harry McDougal, made a compelling argument of approximately 14 minutes in length.

I think people with Trump Derangement Syndrome will find it particularly compelling.

Last week's Fani hearings have nothing to do with the case at hand, which is that Trump attempted to illegally change the results of the 2020 election, aka Coup d'Etat, aka Treason, aka off with his head.

I can't wait until Trump starts complaining that the deep state delayed his trials until right before the election in order to interfere.

As deranged and unhinged as he's currently acting, as he gets closer and closer to election day and the realization he's going to get slaughtered again, he's going to lash out every which way to prevent narcissistic injury.

It's going to be delightful to watch him breakdown and his deplorables drown in their own copium.

If Trump getting slaughtered is on pay per view he could DEFINITELY raise enough money to pay for all his debts.

My hope is that he goes bankrupt again from all of the civil lawsuits he's losing, ends up getting multiple years on house arrest and ends up hawking his garbage ties on home shopping channel to his adoring deplorables who continue to support him at the expense of the conservative movement, which loses election after election.

He will tell himself and everyone that he's doing great but he will be miserable.

Thats a far more fitting outcome than him passing away any time soon.

Yes. But he will end up somehow living like OJ Simpson, whose NFL pension was off limits.
I can imagine other alternative endings that would provide me with greater emotional satisfaction.

You know, it's funny. You mention the ties.
In 2016 or 18… I had been for a while arguing with a family member in Pennsylvania about Trump… this family branch gets together annually for about 3/4 days for various events. So, this "Trump" argument had been going on between us for a bit, and then the next night was a suit and tie event. I had packed just one tie, and when I went to put it on I noticed it had a Trump brand. I laughed, had no choice but to wear it, and at dinner showed it to this person.

I don't believe I've worn it since!

I think I missed all of the posts by reasonable conservatives like BearGoggles arguing that Trump's ahistorical notion of absolute immunity for a president is a slippery slope to dictatorship that the other party will take advantage of.

On the bright side, if people are dumb enough to elect Trump again (doubtful), at least we can stop questioning whether his staff is on drugs to allow his antics - they were, lots of them.

Trump's continued use of the word "absolute" is ridiculous. No way. And it just seems like absurdly stupid lawyering because it is obviously a losing proposition. EG, a President could assassinate his political rival and he gets a pass? Absurd. Presidential immunity is legit but it has to have reasonable boundaries, hypothetically such as 1) acts related to official duties and/or 2) crimes that do not involve intentional acts and/or 3) statue of limitations are stayed until the presidency is over, etc.

Trump thinks "acts related to official duties" involves him coercing others into keeping him in office illegally.

You know, in the absurdity of that day, nobody has bothered to point out the scowling posters of trump inserted before the crowd.

Anger fed to them before they marched and attacked police at the Capitol. That's a nasty psychological tactic!

It would have been far less stressful if there weren't FIB and CIA fabricated witchhunts, illegal FISA warrants, sham impeachment(s), DOJ support of the above, along with Five Eyes, spies, spooks, wire taps, etc. Even hero Michael Flynn was targeted, and now the Left is after every prominent Trump supporter via
Lawfare. Progressive DAs rewrote laws to go after President Trump, and prosecute him for standard previously accepted behavior. It's sick.

I don't know about you man, but I really want to go back to 4 years of utter chaos and forceful incompetence. Gimme a botched pandemic response any day of the week over your boring, experienced, steady, effective, respected, competent leader. When's the last time a world leader used props like empty binders to pretend he had a functioning administration? Or called into a morning variety show like 5 days a week because he was bored?

Plus I'm really excited for infrastructure week and that health care plan they will unveil in 2 weeks.

We overthrew a duly elected president (thank you Victoria Nuland) and Obama built 12 CIA secret bases on Russia's border.

Now Biden got us into two wars, we're flooded with a historic level of illegal immigration, and mind boggling new debts.

With Margaret Brennan this AM:

Gary Cohn of IBM, who previously was Trump's economic advisor and was the architect of his 2017 tax cuts, left the door WIDE open about backing Biden instead of Trump in 2024, in response to a question about who he'd support.
He explicitly disagreed with Trump saying in recent campaigning that he's going to return to slapping on new import tariffs, saying it would be inflationary to consumers.

I have to interpret his comments as, "yes, people in the business community, it's okay to vote for Biden." Well, he practically said exactly that!

It happens so often that people who work with Trump turn away from him. He's good at getting new folks who want the opportunity and association with "the presidency", but they turn away from him after working with him. They often outright criticize him.

So, the fun would be to see which idiots like McConnell return - though they have No need to - and which new crop of lackeys pop up in their own attempt to be relevant.

The Devil presents opportunities every day. It's tragic and horrifying when an addict succumbs to his temptation of drugs or women or violence. Like, nothing good to see there.
But it's theater to see professionals light themselves on fire with their values/ethics/morals as the kindling.

A lot of people want their political leaders focused on the important things like the economy, foreign policy and improving our standing in the world.

But for my money, is there any higher calling for a POTUS than watching TV 18 hours per day, publicly attacking anyone who doesn't support him and being a humorless sh(tposting troll?

What America needs is a POTUS who doesn't understand policy, has proven he can't manage a small organization, let alone one of the largest workforces in the world, can't comprehend anything that requires any level of sophistication and is driven entirely by narcissism, self-enrichment and grudges?
