My wife and I stumbled upon a new Netflix Bill Burr movie on Saturday night, called Old Dads. I wouldn't call it a great movie, by any means. But it was funny, it hit on a lot of cultural touchpoints, and it did enough of making fun of the Old Dads (as well as everybody around them) to make it work. Worth a watch for old dudes like all of us who have nothing better to do.
The really fascinating thing about this movie is how it is being received. 20% rating by the Rotten Tomatoes movie critics and 90% rating from the audience. It's almost like the movie is playing itself out in real life movie reviews. I wouldn't expect a broad audience to like the move, but if you are an old guy, you'll probably see some things you like.
Anyway, what do you think?
