Mom and Pop in the battleground states are not ready to vote for a POTUS with a husband (be it a male candidate or a female candidate). A guy who raw dogs a porn actress while his wife is pregnant and an adjudicated "sexual abuser?" That's cool.*

Per the Washington Post: Secret Service said to have denied requests for more security at Trump events. Top officials repeatedly rejected requests from Trump's security detail for more manpower and gear at events before attempted assassination, at times citing lack of resources, people familiar with the asks said.

He doesn't need more of a resume. He's ready to serve right now. Give credit to President Joe Biden (and/or Ron Klain) for adding "Mayor Pete" to an unsurpassed cabinet, which has helped the Biden Administration get so much accomplished as a Team.

Everybody in Biden's cabinet would be more qualified than Trump.

At the same time, unfortunately, I don't think the country as a whole is quite ready to elect a gay politician to be President, any more than an atheist.

So, the question is: are we ready to elect the most likely next-in-line candidate for President, current VP Kamala Harris? We elected a Black man, but can we elect a Black woman? I don't know, but shaking up the current ticket in any way would give me more hope than not recognizing a change is necessary to win.

We can elect a black woman if her name is Michelle Obama or Oprah Winfrey. Kamala Harris? I don't think so.

I agree with all of that, especially the last sentence. To the "experts" in the Democratic Party I would say this: Figure it out and get a winning candidate in there, whoever it needs to be. The stakes have never been higher. For so many reasons, but just think about environmental regulations and the Supreme Court, for starters.

Better than this, a pay-per-view golfing contest where they both have to walk and carry their clubs.

Biden won't be able to get out of the sand trap on the first hole and Trump will declare himself Club Champion! A plaque will be mounted which says Trump is the best golfer to ever play a round at this course, even though he hailed a cart to drive him back to the clubhouse for 2 Diet Cokes after putting out on the first green.

Those who did sign up for the pay-per-view get exclusive live video of Jill consoling Joe in the ambulance ride, which was kind of needed since customers missed out on the full 18-hole experience - like that 91-second Tyson-Spinx ripoff my under by the same name took us too at George Mason's Patriot Center. What a waste that was!

What happened to him is that reasonable people realized bring a ****ty mayor of a small city in Indiana (?) doesn't qualify someone to be President. If he was straight he'd have been sent back home instead of given a federal job, but D's and their identity politics (the same reason Harris has to be the nominee - no way they pass over a black woman).

If he was straight he'd have been sent back home instead of given a federal job, but D's and their identity politics (the same reason Harris has to be the nominee - no way they pass over a black woman).

Actually, I think the reason he was given a Cabinet position was as a way to get him experience in the federal government. I mean, just listen to the guy, he's super-bright and articulate. Obviously, in 2020 he didn't have near the resume necessary for the White House, so if that's what sunk his candidacy, it was deserved.


Yes, he's obviously super bright and capable. But if you are gay or black or a woman then Republicans will call you unqualified anyway.

Wait, would Republicans even do that in the case of a Kamala Harris, who has way more relevant experience now, than Trump did in 2016? That doesn't make sense! They would do that?!?
Trump did run a for-profit college that cleverly bilked the country out of money. I don't see that type of excellent experience on Harris' resume.

If Harris can get back to speaking straight like she did when she ran for DA in San Francisco, she will be able to hold Trump accountable for his rambling. If she can focus on law and order and does not cater to the progressive, identity politic side of the Dems, then she can change people's minds.

I think her four years in the East Wing has been a waste and she was just a wall flower speaking non-sense all the time. She was much better in CA and in the Senate. She needs to go back to what got her to the Senate.
