So voter turnout was actually low?

I haven't seen the numbers but someone told me Kamala and Trump drew fewer voters than in 2020 during COVID. Seems hard to believe. Did I hear incorrectly?

Congrats! You're gonna lose your Social Security, but at least you helped Elon Musk add another $100 billion to his fortune.

A quarter trillion spent on the Ukraine war, and nothing to show for except for a half million new graves.

It's low compared to 2020, but 2020 was super high. Seems like this one is more in line with a typical Presidential year.

Sad thread. Zero introspection or self-reflection. Scorched earth as usual. And then they wonder why we are so polarized.

Don't forget the $75 BILLION in TARIFFS that will cost the average American family $2,500 a year.

As of maybe an hour ago Trump had 1M fewer votes than 2020 as of a few hours ago Harris had @14M fewer votes than 2020 Biden.

I like that guy. He speaks rapidly like Vivek Ramaswamy but, unlike Ramaswamy, he is not criminally insane.

"People are gonna die." Quite the analysis. His schtick is clearly putting a redneck facade on authoritarian leftist propaganda so that authoritarian leftists can say to themselves, "I'm so virtuous, I can even find common cause with a redneck."

Why was 2020 super high? With this election being so
close you would think turnout would be higher than average. Why did so many stay home this time?

My friend in Spain texted me on Tuesday morning:

"It's dificult that a woman wins the elections for the first time in the USA history"

People not motivated to bother voting for a woman. Sad, but true.

So we should vote for a woman just because she's a woman. Got it.
Btw, what is a woman? I figured I'd ask you that given your penchant for sentimentality and emotionally driven thinking.

It does seem like he will win the popular vote as well.

Unbelievable. Did people just stay home or what? What has the turnout been?

Turnout is high. This is what people wanted.

We need to reckon with what is happening here: Trump is winning because he's improved his margins with various racial minorities (not winning them outright, but doing better). It's not enough to just complain about racism or whatever anymore.

Now I kind of do think a lot of this is Trump-specific. Not sure another Republican would be doing so well here. But he has as kind of weird charisma that just works.

How do you have a guy that lost the popular vote twice come back and win it after having done nothing but complain he was cheated for four years? And he is more popular than ever? Even people in his own party came out against him. Makes no sense.

I said it leading up to tonight - D's need to take a seriously hard look in the mirror. Trump is wildly popular with a segment of the population, but not 50% of it. What happened tonight is 15-20% of people decided D policies were worse than Trump's personality / behavior.

What happened last night was those 15-20% people you are referring to realized they were being lied to by the media all this time.

24 hours after the election and the Democrats are still lost. They have no idea why they lost the election. All they have to do is ask a Trump voter.

Maybe they should ask the Trump voter who made sure they "lost" 20 million votes.

How does that math work? Those figures imply only 30,000,000 families even if the entire burden of the tariffs is borne by consumers.

Exactly, they got their token redneck. "People are gonna die" in Ukraine and Gaza, when they have already been dying at alarming rates under the current policies of blank check for Israel and a quarter trillion military aid to Ukraine.

Reminds me of "Beau of the fifth column", another neoliberal/neocon redneck youtuber with a huge following who validates every establishment talking point.

Amen, brother.

Fortunately, the guy that oversaw a 40.43% growth in our national debt during his previous four years in office sure seems like the right person to responsibly and safely handle this situation. I'm so glad we didn't choose from any other alternatives on the conservative side. He's the right guy for this one.
