Movie, I know you're post-truth but I didn't think you would be disingenuous. Trump purposefully tried to distance himself from the project but his former staff is all over the Project. Did you not know that there is a list of prospects for his second administration included in the Initiative?

Johnny McEntee. Ring a bell? Trump's personal aide. Super loyal guy. Senior advisor to Project 2025.

Russell Vought. I've mentioned him before. Policy Advisor to the RNC. He founded Center for Renewal of America.

Paul Dans. Former Director of OPMB under Trump.

Kevin Roberts. Obviously. This guy is president of the Heritage Foundation. Wants to "institutionalize" Trumpism.

Don't be disingenuous movielover. Don't have shame.

McMormick beats Casey in PA.

D's win in MI and WI.

D's lead by a couple in Zona.

D leads by a hair in NV.

It might well end up 53-47. Very unlikely to be more for R's than 54-46.

McCormick wins PA and flips senate seat.

In AZ, the Dem senate candidate had more votes than Trump at one point. Not sure if this is still the case.

You are just perpetuating the Kamala Project 2025 lie. The views of a candidate's current or former advisors/supporters are not imputed to the candidate, particularly when the candidate has repeatedly and specifically said those are not his views.

By your logic, Kamala/Biden are socialists since they have the support of Bernie Sanders. By your logic, Kamala/Biden support terrorists, since some of their supporters also support Hamas/Hezbollah. By your logic, Kamala is responsible and deemed to agree with every written policy proposal of her far left supporters (e.g., abortion to the date of birth).

There is a laundry list of people supporting Kamala and/or in her inner circle with views that are outside of the mainstream

Your position (that Trump's "distancing" is irrelevant) is particularly laughable when you consider that Kamala tried to distance herself from her own positions (fracking, BLM crime, amnesty for illegals, trans rights for prisoners). You believe Kamala's largely unexplained distancing from her own prior positions, but give no credence to Trump's stated rejection of a third party's position.

Really, this is just a stupid, partisan strawman argument. You don't like it when Trump lies (which he does), but then you respond by lying. It totally discredits you.

Wait, I saw somewhere that Kamala was releasing Post Birth Abortion 2025. I gotta get that.

Once again emotion, anger, victimization are on full show here. Your "strawman" argument is embecilic. Do you even know what that means? lol

Trump distanced himself from it as a political necessity. An exigency. And now, because your guy won, yes WON, you're now running away from the very thing that got him elected. I simply do not understand your logic. If you do, then I'd ask for my money back purchasing those Trump NFTs. You got sold out, sir.

My opinion…Trump isn't ideological enough to care about a whole document / plan like that. He's a narcissist, transactional and strikes me as someone who irrationally has to win. Will some things from the document get promoted? Yes, if they fit that model. Zero chance he tries to adopt it more holistically.
philly1121

On that we agree. Which is why I don't consider him a Republican. But with the people he puts in, whether in stages via actual legislation or executive order, it will get in there. With control of all three branches, vacillating will not happen. This will get done inside of two years. He won't risk going past midterms.

If you want to add to the narcissist list, add Obama, Harris, Biden, Hunter Biden, Jill, HRC, BC, McCain, Romney, Comey, Pelosi, McConnell, and many others.

Except of this group, El Trumpo is one of the few to be highly successful in the private sector, and in two vastly differently fields.

The only group Democrats made progress with is white men and women (+1 and +2%) and people with a Bachelor's... They maintained the margin for people who have graduate degrees.

The only increase for Democrats was rich white people.

Democrats lost ground with every single other demographic. Literally.

Just think about what party you are backing, and what demographics you think you are fighting. Democrats can gaslight all they want, but the policies they are pushing are only bringing over rich white people.

Maybe... Just spit balling, to win, look at why all those people switched to Trump. It's not ignorance, it's not bigotry (unless minorities are the new white supremacists)... It's because Democrats have abandoned their platform in favor of extreme progressivism.

Out of curiosity, what do you think should be in the new Democratic platform that was not before?
I believe Democrats lost for two reasons.

People are less safe.

People have less money, while the rich got richer.

1. Safety is an absolute responsibility of the government. Democrats gave away this issue by siding with criminals, often directly.

The claim that criminals are victims is insane. victims of criminals are victims. And turning this issue upside down disproportionately impacts the groups Democrats lost so much ground with.

California is a great place to see this. Prop 36, Pamala Price, Gascon. Californian's, in progressive cities and a pretty strong blue state dont just see statistics. They aren't buying the Philly style gaslighting about how crime is actually not bad at all.

Look. I have been victimized more by crime since the "defund" movement than I have my entire life, and its not even close. When my kid was about 2 months old, a homeless man grabbed him out of my stroller and I had to literally FIGHT him to get my kid back. I am not billy bad ass, and a lot of people could get their kid back in that situation, but why do I have to fight someone over keeping my kid in my control to go to first Friday? Police couldnt arrest him because he had gone into an "encampment" and are prevented from entering encampments without warrants. I had a knife pulled on me on BART and thankfully only stabbed someone else in the throat. I have had to buy 15 new mailboxes because they break the lock to take mail. My car has had windows replaced 7 times. My wheels were ripped off. That all pales compared to my two year old having a gun put to his head because someone wanted my nannys phone. In a county where the DA drops enhancements for murdered toddlers (actual plural, sadly). Not only is there potential of being a much worse outcome, but the opportunity for justice is near zero.

I grew up in Oakland. In the 1980s. I have been the victim of crimes. But the frequency of being victimized, the brazenness of doing it in daytime with witnesses taking pictures, and no consequences is not solved by "akshually, crime is down" gaslighting. No its not. Its down from a couple years ago, but up massively from before these policies. And California democrats voted to undo some of it...

2. Economy, stupid.

Inflation being down from the highs is not a win. Housing prices, if you take into account a 5% down and mortgage rates, since the 1960s, has been about the same percentage of the median income. When Biden exploded the economy, houses, for the first time in generations, actually became unaffordable. Not just sticker shock, but percentage of income needed to pay the mortgage.

(all are from Jan of inauguration year to September of election year, which is the most recent month available) Under trump prices changed 7%. Under Obama they changed 10% in the first four years, and 5% in the second four. Biden was 21%

Inflation being "normal" in the last quarter is a nice way to gaslight you into thinking that you didnt just get ****ed. Imagine if Trump started burning twice as much coal every year for 3 years, and then JUST settled in for the 4th year, and telling climate activists that coal consumption is actually not growing.

But thats not all... Democrats turned their back on Americans and then told them it was the strongest economy ever.

From the peak of pre-covid employment, American born workers have LOST 873k jobs. Foreign born workers have gained 3.744m jobs. Literally more than every job Biden "created" were not filled by Americans.

But its not JUST that all the job creation went to foreign born workers. Because of TERRIBLE border policy, foreign born labor has a HIGHER unemployment rate now...

For real income, Obama's first four were a loss of 1.8%. His second four were a gain of 11%. Trumps was a 7% gain. Biden is about .5% for far

And who got that? SOMEHOW, share of the .1% stabilized under Obama, shrank under Trump, exploded under Biden. Blame Trump, but his tax cuts drove the share of taxes paid by the 1% to the highest levels levels we've seen. Quite a magic trick to give tax breaks to the rich while getting them to pay more.

And they tell you their policies arent just working, its that you are too stupid to recognize how great things are. The gaslighting is so deep, most of the people parroting have no idea people are having a harder time. They dismiss those people as believing right wing conspiracies. "The party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears." They sit on TV, on the stump, in this thread and tell you to believe them, not what you see. They obfuscate evidence and make you believe that looking at it is bad.

The reason "Lets Go Brandon" became such a wide reaching meme is because the entire apparatus is so hamfistingly obvious in their gaslighting that that the crowd chanting "**** Joe Biden" actually saying "Lets Go Brandon" is too perfect an example of their methods.

Drop the divisive identity politics, and embrace governance. You can keep the social policy. If people are prospering they wont care. But Democrats SERIOUSLY ****ed up the bread part of of placating the populous.

The problem is Democrats have policies people like that they attack trump for. Like tariffs on China. But they give that point to Trump for some reason, instead of owning it an the impact it will have, saying "Yeah, no ****, us too."

Its just too obvious if you have any intellectual honesty at all. Take the politics out (and I am 100% sure you will by saying Trumps economy was Obamas, Obamas was Obamas, Bidens was Trumps, etc) and you will agree the numbers are dog***** But for some reason you take the path of gaslighting that they arent instead of telling people "yeah, that is dog****, we agree"

Fair points, but my question was not about what the mistakes of the Democrats were during Biden's term. It was about what the platform should be going forward.

Four more years of:

President Trump:
* Promised to cut the deficit but added $8 trillion to it.
* Promised to build a wall; completed only 458 miles out of 2,000, mostly repairs.
* Promised Mexico would pay for the wall; they didn't.
* Promised a new healthcare plan; it never existed.
* Promised a middle-class tax cut; primarily cut taxes for the rich, leaving the middle class to bear the burden.
* Promised not to play golf; made 250 visits to his own golf clubs, costing taxpayers $150 million.
* Promised to increase economic growth by 4%; didn't achieve it, President Biden did.
* Promised an infrastructure plan; had none, President Biden signed a massive one.
* Promised to hire "the best people"; fired 3/4 of them, then labeled them the worst.
* Promised to reduce prescription drug prices; didn't happen, President Biden did.
* Promised to win the trade war with China; it cost about a quarter million jobs.
* Promised corporate tax cuts would benefit workers; corporations used the money to buy back stocks instead.
* Promised to revive the coal industry; more coal jobs were lost during his presidency.
* Promised to drain the swamp; He was the swamp, January 6th insurrection and his Fake Electors conspiracy to overturn the 2020 election proves it.
* Promised to release his tax return, didn't.

1. "Safety is the responsibility of government"

I'm sorrry. Did you just become a Democrat? Because I thought all you MAGA people wanted to dismantle the government. The federal government. The bureaucracy. This must include the policing appartus doesn't it? It has to.

As to emphasize my point about Post Truth, it is emotion that now drives decisions. Not facts. Gascon's loss has to do with perception. I am keenly aware of his policies as my family lives all over LA - East Los, Whittier, Montebello, Alhambra. It is not gaslighting to present facts. But it is perception and emotion that drive the narratives now. And certainly all the smash and grab shoplifting that has been going on in LA has had a dramatic impact. That coupled with Gasgon's decision to not seek the death penalty, barring prosecutors from parole hearings and barring his office from seeking enhancement charges to criminal cases were perceived as weak. Would it pain you to read that according to LAPD, burglaries are down in LA in 2024. Down from 2023 and further down from 2022. But, fair play. The people have spoken.

It is of course quite serious that you have been victimized. You and your family.

It is not intellectual dishonesty that I did not hide after this election loss. I've actually been quite open about it. But where I am coming across as sarcastic, others like you, 2034, 003 and others are coming across as disengenuous about what comes next. Dems fumbled. On that we agree. I think that the frame for this loss was established during the Dem primaries of 2016 when Bernie Sanders was punted by the Dem Establishment. So went that loss, so went the white working and middle class. Of course I know Dems need to course correct. But where I am freely open about it, you and others now strike a different tune. "oh, that's not what we're gonna do". "project 2025 is a memo, Nothing more", "Trump never read Project 2025". Now THAT is gaslighting.

I wrote this in another thread that I would buy stock in private prison construction. Want to know why? Because Trump's election sent CoreCivic and GeoGroup stock soaring. These two companies are the ones that expanded their operations into detention centers for undocs. CoreCivic stock surged 29% on Wednesday and GeoGroup climbed up by 42%. Am I lying? It is not gaslighting to suggest that these detention centers are coming. Or that private prisons will now be built. The market doesn't lie. Now, I'm assuming you're for that since you voted for Trump. But don't run away from it. Don't bullsh*t the board that this isn't what you wanted. That is insulting to everyone's intelligence including your own.

I acknowledge the loss. I acknowledge perception is more impactful than facts. That's the way things are. That's why Harris got wiped out and that's why there should be nothing stopping Project 2025. Its not gaslighting. Its not intellectual dishonesty. Its facts. And I say, don't run from it.
