003, crime is down. Inflation has been on the decline for the past two years. From a high of 9.1 in July 2022, to where it was in October 2.4. Homelessness is up but do you honestly care about homeless people? Eh, they're gonna get bulldozed anyway.

I would say that we are in the midst of a post truth society. Social media, partisan news outlets. Your assertion about crime. Crime IS down. Stats can be provided. But it doesn't matter. Because your belief that crime is up is based on emotion. Or Haitians eating pets. Didn't happen. Emotion makes it true.
Crime is not down. Inflation has risen and is tapering off. Of course the rates will slow after going up year over year astronomically.

https://finance.yahoo.com/news/much-grocery-prices-increased-since-140029491.html
Crime statistics are skewed because so many jurisdictions changed laws to decriminalize or not prosecute certain crimes. On top of that violent crime went up in 2022. News of the revised statistics demonstrating that fact probably has some psychological effect of convincing people it has also gone up in 2023 and 2024. Part of it is factual, part of it is impression.

What inflation is doing today - eg, a month over month reduction - is relatively irrelevant when you are facing the cumulative effect of 2-3 years of increased prices. People live this every time they go to the grocery store. It is a serious problem for the incumbent party.

Ok, you're doing this again. Post truth. My own stats. My own echo chamber. Crime is down.

https://www.voanews.com/a/fbi-data-shows-violent-crime-down-for-a-second-consecutive-year-/7795119.html

And we are not talking about just grocery prices, we are talking about the price index as a whole.

https://www.statista.com/statistics/273418/unadjusted-monthly-inflation-rate-in-the-us/

You're proving my point. Truth does not matter. If the inflation rate is down, to you it really isn't. If the crime rate is down. No, it really isn't.

But this is pointless. Again, congrats on your victory.

We have had 1 year of acceptable inflation after 2 years of crazy inflation. Please see the other posts on crime. I do agree that violent crime is down. However, property crime is rampant in my city, and the police are having trouble controlling it due to liberal policies and laws.

One year of acceptable inflation. So, the highest the inflation rate was under Obama was 3.8% in 2009. Under Trump, it was 2.1 in 17 and 2.4% in 2018. 2019 it was 1.8%. Throw out 2020 because that was covid. So we're at 2.4 right now, from a high of 8% in 2022. Under GWB, the rate only went below 2.7 twice. So, now you're adding "one year of acceptable inflation" to the metric. That the 2022 rate was halved and then halved again in two years is really nothing short of remarkable given how European economies are faring.

As far as property crimes, it is interesting that the "metric" for whether something has increased or decreased is always "pre-pandemic levels". And though property crimes are down (with the exception of shoplifting), none are at pre-pandemic levels. And I honestly believe that this, psychologically, is where everyone's head is at. They want everything to be pre-pandemic. And any rise in anything will get "I want it back to the way it was before". Such is the way of things.

I say don't stop any of it. If America wants this, then let them have it. Restrict the press. Restrict abortion and contraception access. Put Bibles in schools. Deport the illegals and the Muslims. Put RFK in charge of all health policy. Put Stephen Miller as border czar. Herschel Walker as missle shield chief. Eileen Cannon to the Supremes. Cut taxes on corporations and tax the middle class and poor. Make deals with Russia, North Korea and China.

Don't stop it progressives. America wants this. Let it happen.

America doesn't want this. Many of your items are liberal fantasies mischaracterizing the other side. Stop being a child.
oh *****you. *****you in the ear. You know damn well that this is what is gonna happen. Don't run from it now 003. Why are you all of us sudden running from this? You won! Embrace it. Spike the football. Your guy is in. Don't be shy now. America has elected Donald Trump. The election was not close. Which is surprising to me if you really want my opinion. But - he has a mandate. Don't run from it. Victory lap that sh*t!

Get a hold of yourself and hang in there. I did not vote for Trump. I was hoping for a better candidate from both parties.
You parrot Trump's rhetoric at every turn, but well done not voting for him. You win on a technicality.

I agree with much of his platform and also disagree with much of his platform. I will therefore advocate for the things I agree with, and there is nothing wrong with that. Thanks.

I'm sure you are right about this, but I think social science shows that historically it takes a year or two for people to normalize to whatever the new inflated prices are and no longer consider them "too high." Not enough time to help for the current election.

Though I don't particularly blame Biden for this. High inflation hit everywhere after the (necessary) COVID stimulus. Sometimes macro trends just kill you.

Agree, though I think we are looking at things along a 5 year continuum. Everyone wants the 2019 throwback.

Point of order: I'd say people want non-violent crime levels to revert back to the pre-Soros DAs / pre-Defund the Police / pre-equity in the justice system levels.

Yes. Reed Hastings, George Soros, Melinda Gates. The lot of them. Enough of this restorative criminal justice system. Build more private prisons! I'd buy stock. Let's get some El Salvador solutions here!!

This is basically how I'm taking it this time. Let it happen and see how everyone likes it. This isn't like 2016 where it was a bit of a fluke. People voted for this.

After getting a preview! It boggles my mind.

That it was surprising to you shows what a big part of the problem is. I'm an Independent, but saw and felt this coming from a mile away.
