Maybe she shouldn't have embezzled. This would seem like a great example of government waste that a Doge fan would want to get rid of...

Also, she's not in prison. She's not even on house arrest yet. And as far as I can tell she even has her seat on parliament still. So free her from what?

Yeah but, in a few years, there will be some new factories opening up in the Rust Belt! Of course, even with the tariffs, it will be hard to compete with stuff manufactured in developing countries, so the jobs will be paying minimum wage.

Who wants to work for minimum wage in this country? Immigrants.

There was a time when a head-of-household could support his (it was almost always a guy) family working a union manufacturing job. They weren't getting rich, but they could buy a house and a car. And the wife/mom could stay home.

If we get some of those jobs back, the wages will be a fair amount less than before, unless they require some sort of skill that can't be duplicated by workers in a developing country (doubtful).

Still plenty of blue-collar jobs that pay pretty well: cop, firefighter, electrical, plumbing, fixing stuff, etc. These are jobs in the US that can't be done by some teenager in Vietnam.

When the manufacturing jobs come back at least we can be confident that factory owners won't replace the workers with AI to lower their costs and increase profitability. They want to support THE AMERICAN WORKING MAN!

I think Perot did a little better job explaining the implications - in WWII we converted auto factories for the war efforts, and we had steel mills, machinists, etc.

Also, it has to be free, fair trade. Mexico dumping chemicals into the local river isn't fair competition.

The US is supposed to co-host a World Cup with Canada and Mexico during the Trump term, which means a whole lot of people will be trying to travel between all three countries during that time. If this keeps up they might have to take that away from us.

FIFA doesn't care about human rights violations. The previous world cups were in Russia and Qatar.

Thousands of people died building stadiums in the desert. A lot of people would have to get deported for FIFA to care. Actually I think the only way FIFA say anything is if the players or some important exec get caught up. I would be shocked if they said or did anything beforehand.
