No. They still have satellite data, weather stations, computer models, etc. Radar is important but they are still in business without it.

I don't know if the spending freeze on cards for maintenance is true, but I do know Government travel cards have had their credit limit reduced to $1. Mine has been though I'm not planning to travel anywhere anytime soon. However, we do have 3 people in our office that are away at training and they are having to use their own credit cards. I expect they will get reimbursed, but the way things are right now, who knows?

Yeah, Putin has a very credible track record when it comes to breaking "cease-fires" and other deals.
Notice how Trump or Vance didn't even acknowledge that.

I agree.

The entire rub here is this war can't go on forever, the world seemingly wants US boots on the ground as a peace assurance because they rightfully don't trust Putin but we (thankfully) are refusing to do it.

An ugly truth is being brought to the surface - our NATO allies suck. It is one thing to complain that nobody ever really pays 2%. But now we have learned they can't raise sufficient forces between the 31 of them to secure the eastern border of a regional neighbor. That is really pathetic and demonstrates that we are not in fact partners; the US is their protector and we pay for the privilege. They do things like let us use their land for bases which provide their defense but we have to give them foreign and and do things like hire civilian locals to work the base for the privilege.

This is no surprise. The economy is not materially different from 60 days ago. But the administration has introduced substantial uncertainty with DOGE and tariffs. The market dislikes uncertainty and people are inherently change averse. Popularity numbers are going to look bad for R's for a while. And R's better get brace for what's going to happen during midterm elections.

Actually, if you've been following the economic data . . . the economy is materially different than 60 days ago.
With all due respect, you just haven't been paying attention.

Markets are pricing in a 44% chance the Federal Reserve cuts rate rates by the May meeting.
Just a week ago that was at 25%.
