Don't worry folks . . .

We've been told by Trump supporters that prices are up only "a little bit"

We are at $3.97 for Regular here in the greater Charlotte area (at Exxon; the closest 76 to me is $4.10)

Your gas tax is 37.5 cents per gallon.
Ours is 61.2 cents

Illinois is up there too.
49.6 cents

Michigan is 52.4 cents

Indiana charges an excise tax of 36 cents but also a gas usage tax of 23 cents.
That's 59 cents combined.

My former state had a special election over a gas tax increase approved during a special legislative session. This is unprecedented for Oregon. It is a rare day indeed when taxes or bids are voted down in Oregon. The measure went down with 83% No. That is an astounding result.

I suspect we will see more of that.

Contra Costa County here in the East Bay has Measure B which would increase the county's sales tax by 0.625% for 5 years in order to raise $150 Million annually to make up for the Trump Federal Cuts to healthcare, food assistance and other general county expenses.

This would send most city sales taxes to well over 10%

Who in their right mind would vote for more taxes of any kind when they see how our state governments spend their money?

Until now about 60% of all Oregonians. Maybe it happened before at some point but I literally don't remember any other new proposed tax or bond not passing in the last 30 years.

I'll vote to finance local bonds for schools or road improvements or some other narrow use, but just a tax for the state to decide how to use? Eff that. I've seen what California does with my tax dollars.

It was voted down overwhelmingly due to the current gas prices. We have a .40/gal tax. That is pretty middle of the road comparatively across the country. Oregon state has passed similar stuff recently, yes. But to Aun's point of passing local stuff, the problems in my area is that NO ONE will pass local stuff and the local governments are insanely corrupt, poor, and getting worse.

Do you live in one of the more conservative parts of Oregon? Although the state overall is blue, we have a family friend that moved up there for retirement and they say there's a lot of MAGA folks in the area where they live and I can't imagine those folks get excited about paying for local services.

Fascinating. What area are you in? I was in Tigard and everything always passed. Always. But I saw this cycle the bond measure for the new police station / city hall went down, which seriously blew me away.

I live just outside of Bandon in Coos County and work statewide but support a lot of stuff in the rural parts of the Oregon south coast. It is very conservative but conservatism isn't the issue. It's the militancy side that is very much stronger than people realize. Actually got quite scary for a bit but the political turnover does not seem to have gone well and there is a noticeable, albeit small, sea change after the local problems got worse very quickly. Commissioners and local officials that promised to remove corruption etc have proven to be far worse and residents are turning on themselves. I can't recall any local measures ever passing. Failing water treatment that needs to be fixed - no. Wastewater - no. Anything for the schools - no. It has been pretty depressing watching the financial side of things fall apart at an exponential rate.

Came across Chevron selling Premium for "only" $6.07 in my hometown.

Almost couldn't believe it.

Had to do a double take.

THANK YOU PRESIDENT TRUMP FOR LOWERING GAS PRICES!
