Most of what Musk touches has enormous success. Teslas don't catch fire more than other vehicles. Your tweet gets 10 Pinocchios.

While Musk endeavors to build and launch the first rocket that will travel 140 million miles and land on Mars, Biden endeavored to exit a helicopter and walk 100 feet to the White House without getting lost.
I suggest you go occupy mars...seems like a perfect place for you!

I am good here. Thanks!
Exactly my point. Why is the government WASTING money on elmo's pipe dream of occupying a planet that is inhabitable for humans? There is your waste of government money. Defund space-x.

SpaceX is funding its projects from retained profits and investments tied to specific projects, such as Starship and Starlink, which add value to the company regardless of the Mars project. The purpose of Starling is to provide a revenue stream for the Starship and Mars projects.

The Air Force is contributing to the cost of the Raptor Engine. More powerful rocket tech is always usable by the military.

I am happy to clear up your concerns. Do you have any other questions?

Today's WSJ

Did the WSJ mention that DOGE and what they've been doing to expose waste, fraud, and abuse has been very popular?

DOGE has only been popular to people with very low IQ's that have reading comprehension stuck at the 6th grade level.

These are the same people that are cheering Musk on to cut their social security and medicare benefits.

Sometimes you just cant fix stupid.

Welcome to Dumberica!

FWIW, the WSJ Editorial Page is quite conservative.
It leans far-right.

The WSJ is owned by Dow Jones & Co. which has been a division of Newscorp since 2007.
Newscorp is owned by Rupert Murdoch, who helped put Trump into office the first time around with Fox News.

It's surprising that there are still people here on Bearinsider who believe the WSJ is just another liberal rag.
These are largely the same posters that post nothing other than Meme's and Twitter screenshots because they don't have an original thought in their pea-sized domes.

Interestingly enough, the Commerce Department has changed its rules in a way that could open up the door for Starlink to become part of a federal $42 Billion GRANT program to bring high-speed service to rural land poor areas of the United States.

Elon Musk's Starlink business could soon tap into $42 billion federal program | CNN Business

Starlink has had trouble getting contracts for various government programs meant to bring high-speed internet service to rural areas. In 2023 the Federal Communications Commission rejected a $885 million contract that Starlink had won in a preliminary bidding process under a similar but separate program, the Rural Digital Opportunity Fund, saying that it did not meet the fiber-optic preference.

It's interesting to note that this move would seem contrary to efforts by Trump and DOGE to cut government spending and HALT FEDERAL GRANT PROGRAMS already approved by Congress.

That's great that Starlink now has a fair shot as the best provider for certain government contracts. The Biden administration are corrupt aholes who had an EV Summit and didn't invite Tesla. Morons.

He doesn't, at least not when a hint of criticism is sent MAGA's way. But believe him when he posts that he's an independent thinker. And know that he completely disapproves of Trump's behavior.

You mock me for holding Tesla in its recent fall, yet EXAS, at $45 pps, is

Down 22% YTD, 25% over the last year, and 70% in the last 4 years.

Tesla, on the other hand, at $225 pps is still up 30% over the last year and still up nearly 500% since 2020. After all, I obviously bought a million shares of Tesla for $1.36 in 2010.

Are the GLOBALISTS selling again today?

Looks like the "gap" down at $220 is getting closed.
Just as I had posted nearly a week ago.

$816 Billion in market-cap destroyed since the December peak.
Doesn't it feel good to OWN the Libs?!?!?

The Model Y seemed a little overpriced to me at some 50 grand. But it's looking more and more like I could get a gently used one for $19,999, as their cachet-level has tanked in the eyes of the Bay Area crowd.

And nobody ever took me for an Elon Musk fan, but I sure won't be putting one of those stupid stickers on the back of mine.

California is by far his largest market. It's a liberal wet dream- have it charging in your driveway while you work at home. I don't see it spreading to Pocatello soon

Good point. Also, driving distances from Pocatello to other places are long enough that one charge won't cover a round trip.

Buyers market: they will be able to afford the new prices, especially if they don't mind a used one from California. Normally, that would be a no go ("The interior reeks of fruits and nuts!"), but what used to be the Official Car of Coastal California is being rebranded as the DogeMobile ("This car was made very efficiently! Each vehicle now represents one line supervisor who was fired without severance pay!"). Maybe they can also figure out a way to cram an internal combustion engine in the frunk!

P/E ratio of 120+, went from $400 in 2021 to 115 in 22, there is room for further decline.

TSLA current market cap is 7x that of BYD.

Tesla has a protected market in the US, but its future in the rest of the world is more precarious. While car buyers in Pocatello will have to shell out $15k for a 4 yr old basic sedan, buyers in Tijuana, Bangkok or Melbourne can get a new BYD for less than that.

Tesla is also an AI, Crypto, and Energy company. They are much more than EVs.

The automotive AI aspect is going to become a commodity, Chinese companies are now throwing in these features in their cars for a pretty small surcharge (see the OpenAI-Deepseek paradigm). The energy aspect, I am less familiar with.

All these extras are currently priced in at several hundred billions, because their car business alone is worth much less than their current $700 billion valuation.
