"For now, Democratic donors and strategists have been gathering at luxury hotels to discuss how to win back working-class voters, commissioning new projects that can read like anthropological studies of people from faraway places.

The prospectus for one new $20 million effort, obtained by The Times, aims to reverse the erosion of Democratic support among young men, especially online. It is code-named SAM short for "Speaking with American Men: A Strategic Plan" and promises investment to "study the syntax, language and content that gains attention and virality in these spaces." It recommends buying advertisements in video games, among other things."

Trump was elected because people like Pelosi or Newsom, and before them, the "HOPE" candidate Obama whose cabinet appointees were straight off a list given to him by Citigroup and Chase Manhattan - these people only aggravated those grievances.

My feeling is that both Clinton and Obama, had they not had to worry about stupid stuff like elections and Congress, would have been pretty darn progressive. Instead, they decided their best bet was to serve two terms.

Obama (and Democrats under him) came about as close as anyone to achieving universal health insurance. People have already forgotten how bad it could be pre-ACA.

Today AOC calls for ICE to be abolished. I realize she doesn't speak for the entire party but her views very often are reflective of the general vibe/belief. This is a great example of the D party moving too far left, not being aligned to the mood of the country and arguably just being wrong. On immigration the single easiest way to knee cap Trump is to stop talking about procedural maladies, wife beating and murderous gang member's constitutional rights being voided, etc. It is to also be for closing the border and humanely dealing with illegals in the country. If D's could ever eliminate the credibility gap on closing the border they would take back this issue. Instead you get AOC calling for ICE to be abolished. I guess D's need to lose more elections before they finally tell the Socialists to shut the F up.

This is rich considering the Dems have spent nearly the last decade calling Trump Hitler, half of all Americans Nazis, biological men women, and not to mention Biden "sharp as a tack"
