I would be very open to going to a town hall meeting held at a community that thinks very differently than me, a political moderate, and ask them to have a discussion with regard to the two discussion points at the end of this post:

* Here are 15 big ways Trump is shattering precedents, synthesized and narrated by Axios' Zachary Basu:

1. Executive power

2. Free-press crackdown

3. Seizing congressional purse strings

4. Tariffs

5. Overriding the Constitution

6. Purging watchdogs and civil servants

7. Eroding DOJ independence

8. Eroding Fed independence

9. Wartime powers in peacetime

10. Pay-me capitalism

11. Targeting Big Law

12. Punishing universities

13. Rewriting health and vaccine policy

14. Profiteering

15. Jan. 6 pardons

Please discuss which of the preceding 15 points are based on a false premise or contain untrue statements and provide supporting evidence for your contention; and

For any of the 15 points that you believe are factually accurate, please explain why you are in agreement with Trump's conduct as described.

Add these abuses to all of the reasons I listed why Trump is in a league by himself as the most unethical pig to ever hold public office in the U.S.

Can you believe this guy so shamelessly promotes himself as being worthy of a Nobel Prize?

Have you missed all the heads of state celebrating Trump? Why would both Pakistan and India agree on Trump being the one to thank for this cease fire and hostage release?

Again, you're a fool.
Trump likes red carpets.
He wants everyone to bow in his presence.
He wants the Nobel prize, his name on everything.
People kiss his ass. It's fake.
What is your problem?
No seriously - what is your problem???

You're absolutely delusional. These heads of state aren't doing this to kiss his ass, what is your problem? You hate a man so much that you can't even see the good he does.

But he has no idea what CEO's of the auto industry have said about the 15% tariffs.
Like Mary Barra at GM or Jim Farley at Ford.

They wanted to see 25 - 30%
15% can be "eaten" and passed-on by foreign manufacturers.

1) what happens, no elections?
2) and the right argues that the left makes elections unfair. We could go back and forth on this all day.
3) he tried what?
4) I don't agree with Trump on everything either but it's absolutely TDS to say Trump was guilty of anything on Jan 6. Don't you think he would have been charged? They threw everything they could at him, treason would have been high on their list if they could have
5) I read them
6) what do you want to know?

It's too long of a discussion to rehash with you. You're just not up to it, either from an educational standpoint or from a "I'm not brainwashed" standpoint.

You exhaust me. I gave 3 quotes from your ardent leaders. They said it themselves. You don't understand politics if you think "oh, they didn't charge him".

He was impeached. 4 republicans officially crossed the line. After voting not guilty, McConnell gave a speech on the floor and said he was guilty.

I don't know what more you need.

Merrick garland was a dope, it turned out. And let's not even get into the Supreme Court and the inability to have a Speedy Trial.

Go back to school, fool.

You quoted Mitch McConnell. They hated each other. That shows you're not arguing in good faith.

I try to respond to your points and you immediately say, it's too hard I can't have that convo. Typical left

How does a puny 15% tariff on autos from the EU shift auto production to the U.S.?
15% doesn't move the needle.

How does a 50% tariff on Copper stimulate copper production in the United States?
It doesn't because it takes a copper mine 27 years to come into production.

Like many of the Trumpers here, you lack basic economics.

Trump's tariff's are CRUSHING FORD MOTOR COMPANY.
That's a fact to the tune of $3 BILLION this year.

How is that helping a U.S. based auto manufacturer like FORD?

Are you just gonna ignore how Trump's tariffs are hurting one of America's premier automakers?

You know Ford produces 53% of their vehicles outside the US right? You know Ford only sources 40% of their parts from the US right?

You do know that 79% of Ford vehicles sold in the U.S. are domestically produced, right?
GM is only 52%

You do know that nearly half of the most popular selling pick-up truck in America, the Ford F-150 is made of Aluminum, right?

How does a 50% aluminum tariff help FORD?

You can't say it was just a messenger job and then also say you know how the Hill's security works. Those things are very opposite unless they are briefing messengers on the inner workings of security. I would also imagine that it's a very different time now than when you were working there, which very different protocols.

Regardless, cool you got that experience. Always thought it would be eye opening, not always good, to work on the Hill.

Maybe your time in social work jaded you.
Bless you for being a teacher. We need more of them, they need more pay and respect, and then we'll even get better ones.

A friend married a woman from Finland. Teaching is highly respected. Must have a masters.

I've pegged you as a Christian and that's why you back republicans.
Surprised to hear social work and teaching - usually liberals enter those realms because they believe in helping community. Republicans back in the day were greedy money *****s who cared less about your fields.
So, I haven't heard you spouting religious talk but I'm guessing that's your psychological connection to Trump.

Otherwise, it doesn't fit.

Well, my stepmom worked for Steve Jobs long long ago so I don't put a cap on women's ceilings. I also happen to be married to a woman who is pretty damn smart and hard working.

Don't sell yourself short. I'm sad to hear you say that.

Like the typical Trumper here, he seems to be pretty good at"cut and pasting" from Ai.
But he has no idea what CEO's of the auto industry have said about the 15% tariffs.
Like Mary Barra at GM or Jim Farley at Ford.

They wanted to see 25 - 30%
15% can be "eaten" and passed-on by foreign manufacturers.

Duh.

It's a chick, fyi.

Was this supposed to be an insult?

The tolerant left being sexist when it fits their goals. Right in line with what you'd expect

No insult here!
I've insulted you enough elsewhere.
Just setting him straight on who he's talking to.
It's actually awesome to have a woman here. Mostly it's always been 100% dudes to my knowledge.

Remember, I have 5 daughters - no way in hell would I insult based on gender. So don't assume that. Again, you must be conditioned by outside forces, patterning, if you think I'm gonna insult a woman.
In fact, I think so highly of women, and so poorly of A Hole men, that I'm 2 for 2 in voting for one as president.

Please join and support your gender next time you have the opportunity.

Lmao what?

0 for 2 voting for women, might I add

Maybe you're like the women I spoke to waiting for tires to be installed at a Walmart in 2016. I asked, and reported on it here at the time, how I asked the people waiting if they thought a woman could do the job of president.

2 of 3 women said NO and I was shocked because in my follow ups they said things like

Women are too emotional.
Women can't command respect on the international stage.
It takes a man.

Very sad indeed.
Rise up!!

Maybe you should listen to women when they talk about women. Just a thought

It was a joke. Mostly. I don't sell myself short and don't assume otherwise but I'm also not blind to biological factors of humans either.

You don't know what you're talking about.
What education do you have???

The same as you buddy. Crazy right? It's funny every time you put down my education, you put down your alma mater

Oh, so you went to Cal?
I didn't.
I graduated international Economics from American University. I had a low level job in the senate, briefly. Those things explain my interest in politics, economics, trade policy.

What background education do you have?

My mistake. I assumed you went to Cal. American is a great school, my sister did a summer study program there in high school and raved about it for years. What made you leave senate work? Seems like a fascinating job, albeit probably always exhausting and sometimes defeating.

I graduated from Cal then did social work before becoming a teacher which I currently am. I'm a citizen of earth which explains my interest in politics, economy, etc..

Sometimes people just don't fit into the box you ascribe to them.

Social work jaded me sure but not in the way you're probably thinking. How do you think social work might have jaded me?

The teacher kudos felt a little backhanded but that might just be my defensive nature coming out. I'd have no problem with teachers needing a masters if the pay and support was better for teachers. I'm currently getting my masters in educational leadership.

Born into a Christian home but never practicing or observing besides the Christmas nativity scene during the holidays.

Yes my fields are largely liberal dominated and coming out of college I might have called myself a liberal, although I've always seen myself as more middle of the pack than anything until recently. The left just keeps going more left. Much too far for my liking. Yes conservatives also care about helping the community. Shocking I know.

So no, religion isn't my connection to Trump.

It was just a messenger job on a committee. We knew the chairman.

I know how the Hill works from a security standpoint. Trump is guilty of treason.

You cannot enter a building without going through scanners. There are police everywhere on the outside and inside.

Trump's mob ransacked the place. He called for a rally of thousands, riled them up with Fighting words, instructed them where to go….
It was a weeks long campaign! "Stop the steal!" Except he lost all 60 court cases related to his claimed "steal". Failure in the courts, he wound up with violence.

Like, honestly, I cannot believe how any of you are unaware. I watched it live. You cannot push and shove cops at the Capitol. You cannot storm past their barricades. You cannot hit them over the head.

I suspect what Trump was hoping for is for a few Uzi's to be whipped out and guts splattered all over the place. That would have maybe been the proper/desired chaos for trumps Green Bay Sweep plan to be executed.

But the police restrained and trumps mob ruined their plan and all the prearranged "we do not accept the electoral votes from" such and such state moves that were simultaneously happening inside the chamber blew up.

Trump's congressional partners were shamed to follow that plan and as soon as they returned that night they all quickly accepted the electoral votes and Biden was president.

The congressional leaders all condemned Trump!

But then something happened behind the scenes and they returned to him. What happened? Our political system is broken.
And you are unfortunately in the dark.

Please listen to a confessor of the crime.

I was born and raised in the Bay Area, arguably the most liberal place in the country. I learned early on to listen to all sides, whether I wanted to or not. It allows me to think critically about a situation instead of following the beehive mentality. I think it would be very interesting for some of the left on here to go live in a community where everyone, at least the vocal majority, thinks differently than you do. I encourage that for everyone, not just the left. Open your mind to the possibility that you don't know everything. It's very enlightening

1. Executive power: Trump has declared nine national emergencies in his first eight months in office, stretching the definition of "emergency" in creative and aggressive ways.

2. Free-press crackdown: Trump has waged the most aggressive government campaignagainst mainstream media in modern U.S. history stripping funding from public outlets, pushing the FCC to revoke broadcast licenses over negative coverage, and personally suing CBS/Paramount, The Wall Street Journal and The New York Times while in office.

Suing CBS is a stroke of genius for Trump, it provides the means for his buddy Ellison to give Trump a kickback of tens of millions above board, in a quid pro quo for Trump having offered Ellison Tiktok on a silver platter.

Now, I still disagree with her on various things, but there's no gender pecking order in my family!
