Failed interventions in 12th - 17th century Islamic countries with little to offer the world.

Venezuela was successful, has massive resources, physical proximity to the US, other Right moving economies, and is a Christian country.

…..and Biden gifted the nation Clarence Thomas by excluding evidence of multiple victims of his sexual harassment when he chaired Thomas' Confirmation Hearing.

CONgress has a black budget and secrecy to pay off their victims of sexual exploitation, abuse, etc.

They also have dimmer lights in some small rooms below the official chambers.

LOL and confirmed here.

They shouldn't oppose it because it's Trump and they shouldn't support it because American regime change hasn't worked since the end of World War II. They should oppose it because we shouldn't be attacking countries that aren't attacking us. Not a difficult concept.

This is ridiculous.
It's absurd at face value that USA has suddenly invaded another country to kidnap its leader, threaten others and declared that we are going to "run the place".
Yet, look how quickly now these posts are flooding the site with blame for democrats.

That must be the main line of business these people are involved in - rip on democrats.

You guys are a joke.

You're the joke. Your inability to understand nuance makes you that way.

Democrats are being criticized for supporting what Trump did, but either pretending to oppose it (the opposite of their stated position when Biden was trying to install Juan Guaido as President of Venezuela) simply because Trump did it, or being criticized for supporting what Trump did and quietly criticizing their Democratic colleagues off the record because they're afraid to show their true colors and support Trump's foreign policy.

The sum total of this is not a criticism of only Republicans or only Democrats. It's a criticism of United States foreign policy, but you're so stupid that you can't process anything other than wanting Trump dead.

Oil is the headline but gold is the collateral?

We should just start making a list of global assets and start from the top, picking them off one by one, right?!?!

Heck, I knew about the oil, but if I had also known about the gold, I woulda been pushing for this years ago! Remember the Beverly Hillbillies? Venezuela's apparently got "black gold" and gold gold!

That s*** should absolutely be ours. And, as evidence, let me cite the Donroe Doctrine!

Like Marco Rubio said, the point is to prevent Russia and China from taking the oil. We take the beauty pageant contestants and the gold?

Pretty apparent Russia was running Venezuela. Cuban security and intelligence pretty much says so. They needed people that would not overthrow their installed dictator so they could keep the price of oil low(above $50/barrel) which allowed Russia to fund its war and other activities around the globe. I also think its hilarious that a bunch non-flagged oil tankers tried to make a run for it off the Venezuela coast past the US navy yesterday. They didn't make it. Now Russia is claiming ownership of some of them saying we invaded their sovereignty lol. Russia didn't care that what they were doing was impoverishing the Venezuelan people, they can flee the country, and that's an added bonus of straining the United States.

So let me get this straight Col. Bone Spur's plan is to send in the U.S. military into Venezuela, a country of 30 million people, and them provide security for the oil companies so they can rebuild the oil production infrastructure, all at U.S. tax payer cost. Then the U.S. oil companies will take the oil and refine it to sell to who? The U.S. tax payer, that's who. ***? Why are we paying for Oil Companies to &$#* us yet again? This will take billions of dollars and years to get done and we're supposed to be okay with it. GTFOH. I guess drugs had nothing to do with going into Venezuela.

Next Columbia? Then Greenland? Steven Miller or should I say Mr. Burns is a moron. Remember no forever wars, America first, and no more foreign entanglements?

Venezuela produces about 1% of the world's oil. The idea that US oil companies are going to make huge long term investments in a country ruled my Maduro's ruthless ideological second in command seems ridiculous. And nobody cares about democracy; Trump has already eliminated the Nobel winning opposition leader as a candidate. And it's not about drugs- cocaine specifically which Venezuela deals in

I think what this is about is a tv moment for Trump and a warning to Cuba, Mexico and others in the hemisphere that Uncle Sam means business again and they ought to fall in line.

A lot of risk here but Trump will be gone when dominos fall

Venezuela's oil reserves are enormous (larger than Saudi Arabia's) compared to current production. Thus, the interest by Russia and the rest. Even Biden knew this and was interested in purchasing oil from Venezuela as he foolishly drained our own strategic reserves.

How has China been neutered?
Please explain.

Venezuelan oil shipments made up only 4% of China's oil imports last year.

Trump's maneuver may have hurt the "teapot" refiners who process deeply discounted sludgy high-sulphur crude that's used to produce bitumen for construction and road building, but that's about it.

Meanwhile, the hoard of sanctioned sea oil continues to expand.
This will cushion Chinese buyers in coming months.

Almost 82 million barrels is currently on tankers in waters off China and Malaysia.
Mostly Iranian crude.

Aren't you guys getting what you wanted all along? An American president is fighting Putin in our own backyard instead of his. No American casualties were recorded, and we got in and out of Venezuela faster than your late-night Taco Bell run to the border.

Russia and China don't need Venezuelan oil, supply exceeds demand globally

Russia and.China do have political interests which this will hurt if Venezuela becomes a US client state but the US doesn't seem interested in the hard truths to make this happen. Remember Iraq! No, this is a flash in the pan thing

We don't seem to be out of Venezuela at all though

We have military bases and assets everywhere. We have subs circling every ocean 24/7 with nukes onboard. IT doesn't matter if the president is a Republican or Democrat.

The real questions are, how much of this do we really need and how much of this should we cut?
