My take: He is admitting he cheated on his wife but claims it was consensual.

F@uck him. I always thought he was a poser anyway.

That probably is going to be his line.

Of course, spending years banging his staffers (even if consensual) is still terrible judgment on his part. You have to know this day is coming if you're doing that.

…..and if you live in a glass house like Swalwell does, you might not want to be the point man for throwing rocks at a degenerate like Trump.

Imagine the feelings of all the staffers that he never approached.

This seems oddly similar to the Joe Biden mentally ret*arded thing. No one knew or suspected Swalwell was doing these things until the very end when an election was at stake?

For those who imagine that Swalwell's conduct was unknown prior to recent events

Literally the point of Congress is a bunch of powerful men hiring underpaid female staffers and then offering the carrot of potential career advancement to entice them into sex. Some choose to play that game willingly and make the tradeoff. Some resist and if they attempt to complain or report it, the complaints get swept under the rug.

All those Democrats gave their endorsements knowing precisely that Swalwell was one of those creepers in a body full of sexual predators, but ready to do a coordinated takedown when his usefulness expired.

I just thought I'd highlight two claims of yours that are total BS.
Like, I just want to say to those of those sentences, "oh REALLY?!", while snickering in your face as if you are some fool.

Here, let me see if I can find an appropriate visual to represent:

On my way, I found this one, too.
Please note that it lacks the aggressiveness of some of the others.
The subject, like you, has willingly offered herself up for proper treatment. This is not an attack, just an appropriate response:

Katie Porter is clearly the candidate to vote for now. Though I wish Kamala Harris had run.

This whole Swalwell saga is very bad news for Republicans as previously it looked like the Dems might split their vote.

This is another insurrection committed by Democratic leadership. Unacceptable.

Many voters probably wanted Swalwell to win, I think. : )

Katie Porter? Really??

It has already been shown that she is abusive to women, in case you missed it.

And there is more coming out about KP.

Yeah, Swalwell always sort of gave me the creeps (separate from the sexual allegations). Reminded me of Ron Desantis: blind, zero-calorie political ambition wrapped up in a sort of a smarmy package.

Wow, my party has some real winners in this race, doesn't it?

I suppose my favorite pol in the state now is Ro Khanna. If somebody knows some bad things about him, maybe tell me now so I can start fresh with a completely clean slate.

People who support Trump will sit their and say Katie Porter is abusive to women because she's a tough boss. Hilarious.

It's disappointing that party leadership knew of Swalwell's activities for years but buried them and let things get to the point where he harmed more women and became a leading candidate for Governor...

Steven Tavares on X: "I've covered Eric Swawell since he was a member of the Dublin City Council. Shortly after being elected to Congress in 2013, his behavior towards women was known by all levels of our local government and the Alameda County Democratic Party." / X

That is quite amazing that he was (apparently) pulling all that crap and still running for President and California Governor. He probably thought he was the next John F. Kennedy but this ain't 1960 anymore where you can keep stuff on the hush hush.

Safe to say April 2026 won't go down as being the all-time favorite month of his life.
