Are you against making it easier for people to rebuild after their homes burned down or are you just being a troll?

We all know damn well that Cheeto is not going to do a damn thing to rebuild these properties any faster or more cheaply. He can't rebuild Venezuela either

Come on bruh, at least act like you know something

I literally cannot wait to watch other Democrats slaughter Newsom in the 2028 Democratic presidential primary on his actual record. Who wants to be the Tulsi that ends Kamala or the Warren that ends Bloomberg?

You didn't answer the question. Are you against making it easier for Californians to rebuild after their home was burned down? Or are you just against Trump getting the credit for it?

It's all just performative nonsense. It's not going to be quick to build in California because there are significant building standards and costs. And insurance companies (if one had insurance) that make it hard to collect. I support building to proper standards, otherwise you get red state dilapidated homes and structures that crumble (see Florida condos)

Of course people should be able to rebuild their homes but does Southern California have water resources for population growth? Southern California should be depopulating.

Speaking of "heroic leader" I will leave this right here.

Never mind that he was married at the time.
Never mind that his wife was pregnant with their son Baron at the time.
Never mind that he paid $130,000 to Daniels as hush money to buy her silence during his 2016 campaign.

This is the "hero" that avoided the Vietnam draft with 5 deferments.
This is the "hero" that called POW John McCain a loser.

Rosa Parks was heroic.
Caesar Chavez was heroic.
Harriet Tubman was heroic.
Susan B Anthony was heroic.
Martin Luther King was heroic.

Donald Trump doesn't have a heroic bone in his body.
Donald Trump has been a FRAUD since the day that he was born.

Well Wagsy,

You managed to completely miss the point of my post.

The operative words in my post were NOT "an affair".

The operative words were "best friend".

Capice?

This is my fault for assuming any one who read my post would have cringed at the thought of what this night of passion would have done to the psyche of the victim, the husband, not that his wife had just an affair, but she had it with my best friend. Think of how much that would hurt.

It is my fault for not remembering that you and others are younger than me, and our generations were raised with different values, ethics, and especially morals. To my generation, "best friend" meant something. It was someone I placed full faith in. We shared our most intimate secrets with that friend. We trusted him with protecting our motives, our feelings, our acts, and likewise expected that trust in return.

Much of that went out the door with the pill, which increased the number of aggressive "cougars" out there, and overly-aggressive males as well. One thing I would never have done was to sleep with a best friend's wife. I had opportunities. But where I come from, and the people who raised me, it would be a serious cardinal sin to sleep with my best friend's wife.

Nowadays many more public figures have affairs. Sometimes a marriage survives it, sometimes not. It is easier to have affairs now, because many couples don't get married, so having affairs just doesn't seem to matter as much. Like falling off a log, as they say.

You want to pick on Trump, your favorite punching bag? Fine with me. He was guilty of having affairs. But let's not forget, the numerous affairs of JFK, RFK, Teddy. How about Lyndon's storied affairs, or Bill Clinton's? OMG. FDR had affairs, and Bill Clinton is legendary among the breed. Republican Presidents have had them as well.

Sleeping with your best friend's wife is one of the worst things you can do to a friend. You have to walk away from having that one, or you have no character at all. That is how I see it. That is why I won't be voting for Gavin Newsom.

Your generation had as many shaggers as this one has. And the generations before it. Guess what? Caligula shagged his friends wives as well.

You even cite LBJ.

I don't understand your response at all.

Excuse me, but as an older dyed in the wool Republican, you weren't voting for Newsom anyway.
Let's not pretend that there was a snowball's chance in Hell that you would have.

These are the real facts though if you MAGA types would do any research:

MYTH: Refinery idling or closures are unique to California

FACT: This trend is not unique to California. Refineries are closing globally, and refining capacity is consolidating in megarefineries. To manage this transition, Governor Newsom called two special legislative sessions in 2023 and 2024, resulting in SB X1-2 and AB X2-1. These laws granted the California Energy Commission (CEC) regulatory and data transparency tools to ensure a stable, affordable fuel supply during the state's transition away from petroleum-based transportation.

And these tools are working: California has avoided severe gasoline price spikes like the historic 2022 and 2023 spikes, and retail gasoline prices have been lower and more stable in 2025 than in previous years, even despite one southern California refinery closing in 2025 and multiple others experiencing overlapping outages for maintenance.
