Thanks for this. The day Trump leaves office, a lot of posters here will run out of stuff to say thirty times a day. I get called a lot of stuff and it just doesn't matter - if you have to resort to name calling that means you don't have an argument. People can make stupid arguments (guilty as charged), but calling people stupid is self-defeating, not in my mind a time out offense. The only thing that ever really pissed me off was some guy saying I got him a suspension, when I didn't, and my post got the whole thread puled off. I apologize.

I'm also not the one trying to edit this board, which has to be a thankless balancing act. BI is a commercial product, it has standards, it doesn't want customers to get offended, and there are a ton of posts that happen in real time, and things are pretty shrill these days with such a divisive figure dominating the news, and I could go on. You honestly don't want to edit this forum and whoever are the ones doing it, you have my sympathy.

I'm laughing because I met Stokee when she was at a neighbor's house in Laguna Beach (she grew-up down here). She mentioned she was going to Cal, and I chatted her up. I later mentioned to my wife that I found her bright. My wife suggested I was getting old or I needed my vision checked.

Many of you complain about bias. You are simply wrong. I could give you data but it won't matter - many of you are immune from logic and reason on this point.

The 6 most prominent members of the cabal of infighters have received over 1200 moderations, including nearly 40 bans. Pause and think about that for a minute. 1200. This is the point where most of you say something like "but so and so did or said…". Look in the mirror. Take care of yourself. To borrow a line, think globally but act locally.

Many of you have stated you prefer this that or the other to be enforced. We enforce the published rules. If you do not like it you should consider finding another forum. Literally. It's not like you will be materially missing out on any Cal discussion - 75% of posts from "the 6" are here in OT. Not Cal football. Not Cal hoops. Not Cal anything. Just OT political fighting. Bluesky, X and other spots are target rich environments for the type of sniping some of you thrive on. Perhaps they also have rules enforcement that is more to your liking. Have at it there.

I'm going to be constructive and offer the following:

If you feel that OT is being overwhelmed with "infighting" and that there are a couple of posters "monopolizing" the bandwidth here with some posting nearly 200x in a weekend, then why not impose a daily posting limit to cut down on the childish and pedantic "tit for tat" that takes up your time as a Moderator?

And/or incorporating a true "ignore" feature where one doesn't see the ignored person's posts copied in other posters quotes.

The remedy seems pretty simple to me.

Equality of outcomes does not mean equality

I try to stay within the rules of the board and when I don't, I accept my timeouts. Yesterday Cal88 and I were asked to stop going back and forth. We both stopped with the back and forth arguing between each other. I posted a lot this weekend because well ya know, we bombed Iran. Pretty big news. I also try to respond to every post that is either directed towards me or about me. That leads to a lot of posts because yall like to talk about me. Rarely do I post as much as I did this weekend.

Obviously I'm one of the 6 people he's talking about but you also know you're one of the 6, right? Self reflection is key in life

When I get a suspension for posting upon Kirk's death (one example) that it was not a loss (and what did he expect?) and I see posting where people are referred to personally as cucks, **** birds and jerks and they are posting while I am suspended, this data doesn't mean much to me.

I do appreciate the moderator job is not easy and appreciate that. Also with those numbers re: moderations and suspensions, I was actually shocked to see the numbers are not very high (IMO).

I also take some offense (if it was directed at me) that I do not contribute to the football or basketball boards. I contribute (especially to football). Hell, one of the marketing campaigns for Cal Football last year was my posting of "We're Not Leaving" that is still on a billboard as you leave Oakland's Airport. I just saw it yesterday.

It's surprising that people continue to turn a blind eye to your contributions to Cal Football.

As for me, I used to be a huge contributor to the Olympic Forum here but gave up because it was like watching paint dry due to zero engagement other than 1 or 2 diehard posters who were interested in Water Polo or Track and Field.

I literally go back and make a ton of edits so as to not hurt the "feelings" of posters here.
Meanwhile, the people that I'm walking on eggshells for have no respect or regard for the rules and they post name-calling with impunity.

I feel as though some of us here have been unfairly "pigeon-holed".

I think my suggestion of a maximum daily post count would be most effective. It would help lower the demand on moderation resources.
