His response to having PTSD after 4 deployments in Afghanistan is to enlist as a "security consultant" for a Blackwater type firm. He then returned to Maine to become a full time oyster farmer. He says the business does not make much money, but he is able to supplement his income with the benefits he earns as a 100% disabled veteran.

He has gone through more political consultants than Donald Trump. There are a bunch of real whack a doodle comments about using violence and getting armed and organized which he now blames on PTSD. He said women who worry about getting assaulted should not get "so ucked-up they end up having sex with the wrong person." The guy loves guns. He sounds like the perfect Trump supporter, but now calls himself a communist, says all cops are *******s and believes all rural white Americans are stupid. He got formally repudiated by the head of the DNC, but he is endorsed by all the correct lefty groups. Seems like the mainstream Dems are losing their party also. The Democratic Governor of Maine just quit the race because she was so far behind. Collins haas been on life support for the last decade. This is America - he could win.

Platner comes from money attended the Hotchkiss school an elite east coast preparatory school. ( I suspect everyone there had nazi tatooos as a show of rebellion).

This may not matter- nobody was a bigger trader to his class than FDR- or he is another fake populist like Trump, but he represents a natural reaction on the left. The people who will fear and denigrate him the most are the monied classes, Republicans and Democrats and their warlords

We'll see but hope he wins. We need more economic diversity and less fake diversity

It worked - then Obama went on to fill his cabinet with Citigroup and Chase Manhattan appointees, funded jihadis that devastated Libya and Syria, funded the civil war in Ukraine, gave the banksters a blank check in 2008 etc.

He could just be another fake Democrat progressive who does a heel turn once he's in Congress. But at least he's talking about the right things.

You can always identify the candidates who are talking about real kitchen table economic issues and how much Israel sucks by how hard their opponents try to character smear them.
