OP literally posted that the cost of the ballroom was up to 1 Billion because of an allocation to the entire White House of 1 Billion to pay for security upgrades. Such allocation only allowed for funds for security aspects of the new ballroom. The bill CLEARLY excluded any other expense to the new ballroom that wasn't specifically for security.

Unfortunately, folks who either don't take the time to or don't have the ability to read well, did not realize this and failed to see how the OP was completely incorrect. I tried to educate folks who proceeded to further demonstrate failures in logic and/or reading comprehension. Please do better y'all.

PART of the $1 billion can go towards security enhancements related to the East sing modernization project. NONE of the money can be used for anything having to do with the project that doesn't relate to security.

With your logic, does this mean it is now up to 1.4 billion??? Obviously, 100% of the project isn't security. Please use common sense.
