Rumors are Trump is going to agree with Xi for China to invest up to $1 trillion in US-based factories in JVs with Chinese companies.

I think this is a good initiative by Trump, especially if it involves technology transfers, which would be taking a page out of China's playbook, ironically. It's interesting to see that this policy is being attacked from the right and the left here. If anything it will give the US more economic leverage over China.

If he can get enough money to line his pockets, 47 will sell out the U.S. to any country.

I agree. Khanna is nuts, as usual. If the factories are built on American soil, that's lots of high-paying jobs for American workers. How is that bad for American workers? Does he think Trump is going to import Chinese citizens to work in American factories?

I bet he asks Xi help in getting IRAN to open up the Strait.
And Xi will ask for the U.S. to decrease military assets in Taiwan in return.

Gotcha! There is no such people as the Uyghurs. They are like the Houthis and the Kurds. A made-up people to see who knows s*** and who doesn't. The sound of the names and the spellings would be a dead giveaway to most of us...

Yup, he's preoccupied with getting his phone orders out, and he's badly weakened and stressed by the Epstein files and a failed war.

Yes, my post that you quoted was a culturally insensitive attempt at humor.

Uyghurs, Houthis, Kurds? Great people, I'm sure.

I think Trump likes Xi better than most foreign leaders plus there is a mutual dependence here- we need minerals, they like our market and vice versa- hundreds of US corps operate in China, plus we'd like them to buy Tbills. Wouldn't be at all surprising if there was a "huge deal"

This humanoid robot went after Trump today in GY-NA during a demonstration. Trump was able to save himself by pushing Little Marco to the robot as an offering.

Unlikely. Steel and glass technologies quickly are known worldwide because companies want to sell the equipment to produce them - it's a global market. As far as cars, China has taken the lead in electric car production, but thanks to US consumers love of $70K pickups and the Moron-in-Chief's energy policies, the electric car market here is sputtering.

Electric car policy in the US is an upper middle class wet dream. Other than making Musk rich it was never serious.

Who can trust the ChiComs? They agreed to buy Billions in soy products during Trump 1.0, then immediately welched on the deal.

Hardball trade negotiation tactics on both sides. I think the US today is the only major market still blocking Chinese EVs, which are now being sold in Mexico and Canada.
