GOPers are at least as out of touch as Dems, though the latter might still screw up despite GOPers like this guy gifting them the next elections:

Major policies and actions implemented by the Trump administration that civil rights organizations, advocacy groups, and economists state have negatively impacted Black Americans fall into several key categories:

Dismantling DEI and Civil Rights Protections:
The administration ended federal diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) training programs and banned certain race-conscious hiring and workplace diversity efforts. These rollbacks have been widely criticized by civil rights groups for erasing important mechanisms to address systemic racial disparities in the workplace and limiting pathways to professional advancement.

Changes to Tax Policy:
The 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, and subsequent extensions, were structured in ways that disproportionately benefited wealthier Americans who hold significant wealth in stocks and real estate. Economists argue this worsened the Black-White wealth gap because Black households generally hold less intergenerational wealth and rely more heavily on wage income.

Healthcare and Social Safety Net Cuts:
The push to restrict or alter the Affordable Care Act and cut funding for Medicaid and SNAP (food stamps) disproportionately harms Black communities. Black Americans rely on these programs for essential coverage and basic needs at higher rates due to longstanding systemic economic inequities.

Education and Student Loans:
The administration actively weakened oversight of for-profit colleges, which enroll high proportions of Black students, and attempted to roll back school discipline guidance meant to address race-based disparities. Additionally, efforts to restrict or close the Department of Education create chaos around the management of student loans, a burden that Black students carry disproportionately.

Trump signed Executive Order 14185 ("Restoring America's Fighting Force").

Abolishing DEI Offices:
The order mandated the complete elimination of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) bureaucracies across the Department of Defense (DoD).

Banning Systemic Racism Education: It prohibited teaching military personnel and service academy cadets about systemic racism, implicit bias, and institutional discrimination.

Impact:
Advocates like the Black Veterans Project note that these offices historically identified structural bottlenecks and hidden racial disparities in promotions and judicial actions. Removing them isolates service members who face discrimination.

Rollbacks and Rescissions of High-Level Promotions

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has engaged in what critics call a "purge" of diverse leadership, directly affecting top-tier Black military personnel.

High-Profile Ousters:
Under this administration, history-making Black leaders, such as Air Force Gen. CQ Brown Jr., the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff were removed or replaced.

Promotion List Interventions:
Reports surfaced that Secretary Hegseth actively blocked, delayed, or removed Black and female officers from pre-approved military promotion lists.

Impact:
Civil rights organizations, including Color Of Change, state that bypassing qualified, high-ranking Black officers creates a severe glass ceiling and signals that advancement is no longer strictly merit-based.

Erasure of Black Military History
As part of the wider push against DEI, the Pentagon launched an extensive review to sanitize internal databases and public-facing military websites.
Flagging Material for Deletion:
Over 26,000 photos, online articles, and historical references were flagged for removal on suspicion of being tied to "woke" or diversity initiatives.

Targeting
Historical Legacies:
This sweep inadvertently targeted prominent Black military milestones, including digital archives and historical references to the iconic Tuskegee
Airmen.

Impact:
Black veterans expressed profound alarm to The Hill, warning that erasing the contributions of Black service members severely damages morale and diminishes the incentive for future generations of Black Americans to enlist.

Reversal of Uniform and Grooming Standards
The administration pushed to rescind alternative grooming modifications, intending to institute a "one-size-fits-all" standard to maximize uniformity.

Targeting
Shaving Waivers: Structural changes aimed to restrict or eliminate medical shaving waivers.Impact: This policy directly penalizes Black men, who disproportionately suffer from Pseudofolliculitis Barbae (severe razor bumps caused by curly facial hair). Dermatologists and military experts note that forcing close-shave mandates leads to severe skin infections, and historically, a lack of a shaving waiver delays promotion or results in administrative separation.

Domestic Deployment of the Military

The Trump administration outlined plans to significantly increase the domestic use of the military and the National Guard to police American cities.

Targeting Urban Centers:
Executive priorities focus on deploying troops into majority-Black and brown urban hubs (such as Chicago, Oakland, Baltimore, and Washington, D.C.) under the guide of combating crime.

Impact:
This places Black service members and National Guardsmen in a deeply conflicting moral position, forcing them to participate in heavily militarized federal law enforcement operations targeting their own communities.

On a Scale of 1 - 10 how would you rate Trump's overall job performance?

And I already said that's not a realistic question. Asking to judge something as complex as president on a 1-10 scale is silly.

I find it to be a realistic question so I will offer an answer.

For Trump's overall job performance which would look at his chaotic trade policy, surging annual budget deficit, increased national debt, increased inflation, increased military aggression, profiting off of his position as POTUS, and his complete and unequivocal abandonment of America First, I would give him a:

1

I'm not afraid to offer an overall job approval rating on Trump.
The only thing that he has done in my opinion that he campaigned on is close the border.

Everything else has been an unmitigated disaster.

And given his job approval rating as American turns 250, I'm clearly not alone.

Is this poll of Trump voters or all voters?

13-15% of blacks voted for Trump in 2024. If this a poll of all voters, is it then suggesting most blacks who voted for Trump approve of his performance?

So DEI is ok as long as it isn't a formal policy with written practices, like White Boy Affirmative action. I don't think Trump is cool with that….at least as far as DEI goes.

Fair enough, you didn't say that, although I never said that you did. I was extending your logic to DEI. Let's try it this way:

So White Affirmation action (aka Good Ole Boy system) should be eliminated if it "is ever placed into policies and written practice," correct?

Even though White Affirmative action is on a wink wink secret handshake basis and not in writing it can be eliminated now by school administrators not letting unqualified applicants like the Kushers of this world get into Harvard.

Are you opposed to making a rich White boy meet the qualifications to get into college just like everyone else?

Would you be opposed letting a minority student gain acceptance to Harvard and take the place that would have gone to an unqualified Kushner/Trump/Kennedy/Bush ?

Well then it sounds like if you were in charge you would be in favor of eliminating Good Ole Boy admissions even though that system "isn't in writing" because that system allowed a mediocre high school student like Jared Kushner get in to Harvard when he didn't meet the standards everyone else was subject to. I agree with you.
