And how much do you believe Trump's war on Iran and Tariffs have cost the average American household?

Roughly $2,000-$3,000 per household. Justified costs in my opinion. Short term costs for long term gains.

When you say "long-term" gains, how long will it take to see the "gains" from Trump's tariffs?

Most were implemented in April of 2025.

Currently $88.6 Billion as of July

U.S. International Trade in Goods and Services, July 2026 | U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA)

We've already seen some of the gains. Tariffs have brought in 150+ billion after accounting for the refunds.

You're asking the same questions over and over, trying to get some gotcha answer. I already said it was justified costs in my opinion. I support reconfiguring the way we do trade with other countries and the way other countries have fleeced us for years.

You do understand that those "reciprocal" tariffs that Trump announced were never reciprocal in the first place, right?

They were BOGUS.
Completely made up.

ie.) Switzerland has no industrial tariffs on us. His 61% number for them was BOGUS.

Yes, you've made it clear that you are in support of TARIFFS which are a tax on the American consumer.

I learned that at CAL from my Econ 1 Professor in 1980.

Tariffs: almost always a bad idea.

Iran War: terrible idea

Lower taxes: bad idea

We need regulated capitalism to thrive and for people to pay their reasonable fair share of taxes. Internationally, we need to be strong-but-smart militarily, then largely stay out of other countries' internal affairs. It'd be nice, too, to foster relationships with our allies instead of alienating them. Western Europe, North America, South Korea, Japan and Australia constitute the most powerful alliance -- economically and militarily -- in the history of the world.

Trump is wrong about most everything... his personal qualities, his policies and the way he governs.

Trump is getting trounced in polls.
But just watch what he does - he's a wild cornered beast and will likely lash out in spectacular fashion.

Last time he did Jan 6 Coup d'Etat attempt.
This time? Who knows, but I DID just hear him threaten to use nukes on Iran at the UN speech yesterday.

In August, he had the Treasury go into the longer maturities of the Treasury market (10 to 20 year and 20 year to 30 year) and do "buybacks" in order to increase liquidity with the hope of getting banks out of poor positions, raising cash, and helping to increase demand at future auctions.

The only problem is that he brought a "peashooter" to a gunfight.
Literally pissing in the wind.

You can read about it here:

Treasury doubles debt buybacks as Bessent moves to steady bond market

U.S. Treasury's bond scheme is not a national debt management tool, say top economists, but it did show Wall Street what makes Scott Bessent flinch

He said that "HE IS THE HOUSE" because he has access to proprietary information that the market does not have.

That "proprietary" information would most likely be the "mix" of maturities that the Treasury issues at auction every week, every month, every year.

He has in fact been employing the Janet Yellen strategy (who he adamantly criticized) of selling more short-term securities (ie. T- Bills) which can help limit the issuance of longer dated maturies . . . 5, 7, 10, and 30 year Bonds.
It's a CULT.

Your interpretation of Bessent's "I am the house now" comment is simply wrong. He wasn't talking about knowing Treasury's secret future auction mix. His actual explanation was about foreign exchange intervention in the Japanese yen. Bessent said that when Treasury intervenes alongside Japan, he has unusually good insight into what the Bank of Japan and Japanese policymakers are likely to do. That's what he called "asymmetric information." Turning that quote into "Bessent knows the secret maturities Treasury will issue" is attaching an entirely different meaning to his statement.

Interesting article about how tromp is involved in the ballroom construction. Architect wanted to do something different differently than Trump wanted to do before the safety, evacuation of volume, and Trump said that they don't have to pay attention to any building codes, he is the code.

Are you surprised?

This is like our Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent saying, "I AM THE HOUSE"

I missed Bessent recently. Tell me what I missed.

Here, I will simplify it for you.
It's BOTH.

You're the one who was wrong, I don't need anything simplified.

It isn't both and he explained that.

Whatever "inside" info that Bessent had from the BoJ . . . FAILED.

Again you're conflating what he said about Japan. Please do your research before spouting off your repetitive nonsense.

Yes.

Question:

Do you always obfuscate from the point others are making to try and make your own?
