Aaron evidently didn't spend much time in the classroom at Cal. For someone who claims he is so smart and well read, he totally misconstrued why Fauci was taking the fifth at the scam hearing by Rand Paul. He must get his news from Fox.

This is all such a nothing burger. If the Senate wanted Fauci to testify (and it really believed he was already fully covered by a pardon), they'd just immunize him (see Oliver North), giving him protection commensurate with his Fifth Amendment rights. Ultimately, even holding him in contempt will only confirm that his testimony is compelled and not voluntary and thus entitled to Fifth Amendment protection. Fauci then will testify with the protection confirmed and in place. For lawyers who really know this area, this is all political theater. Fauci (and really his lawyer) is just ensuring beyond any doubt that he gets the protection before actually testifying. Aaron is one helluva a quarterback but definitely not a lawyer. Still, like many, he'll create a narrative, along with some in the media and some senators, to boost his feelings and beliefs about responses to COVID by the government.

Although the Fifth Amendment right is colloquially known as the right against self incrimination protected answers don't have to be incriminating, just a link in the chain of prosecution. For example, stating your address isn't "incriminating" but one has the right not to say it if it could lead derivatively to any evidence that might be introduced in a prosecution (including investigation). And though asserting the Fifth requires doing so on a question-by-question basis, lawyers generally advise an all-or-nothing approach so as to avoid waiving the protection (too complicated to discuss here). But asking about the carpet and tie colors was purely performative by Senator Hawley. Hawley knew Fauci was safely asserting as to all questions, and Hawley cared nothing about those specific answers other than to create talking points and content for Fox News. Again, if the senators want answers, just immunize Fauci (a la Oliver North), and he will have no right to assert the Fifth.

This is BS. I know Kidd and he attended class. Enough so he he had sufficient units to be able to get a degree from another school while working as a head NBA coach. Rodgers had good grades when he was here - is it your position Cal is the type of school you dial in good grades. Your problem is you just don't like what ARod said.

His rant on Fauci and ESPN questions the conventional wisdom, hence my comment. That doesn't mean I agree with what he said, but it is like many a Cal guy to have unconventional views.

At least in modern times I'm having trobule with who had a better career. Tony Gonzales may be the best tight end in modern NFL history, but let's face it QB is more important to the game. Beyond that ... who?

The four Cal players above were less publicly disrespectful of Lord Fauci.

Aaron Rodgers generally ranks inside the top 10 quarterbacks of all time and within the top 60 players overall in NFL history. His status is defined by four MVP awards, elite efficiency numbers, and an all-time high career passer rating.

Mack is generally not listed as a top overall NFL player of all time although he did get three All Pro nods.

Marshawn Lynch doesn't register as a top all-time player, nor does KA.

Tony Gonzalez, however, is ranked #45 all time per Google.

KA is a great player, especially for a guy with average speed. Is he one of the best WRs in the modern era? Not even close. I have not seen one list of top 25 WRs that he is in. Kinda like Lynch a generational talent whose cumulative career statistics generally place him just outside the consensus top tier of all-time greats.

Mack clearly is a top generational blocker, but is he really ahead of Hannah, Munoz, Allen, Upshaw, etc.? I know of no top 25 of lineman that he appears.

Gonzales I agree is a top guy. Statistically he is the best TE. No ring however.

You build a team around your quarterback, not your TE. Aaron Rodgers is at least top 10 of any QB list I have seen. He has a ring, a super bowl MVP, four NFL MVPs, 10 pro bowls, etc. It is not even close.
