Now that the primaries are over, the "Democratic" Party is doing everything it can to sabotage its own Progressive candidates, and align itself & its candidates with Trump, the GOP, and their extremely unpopular war with Iran -- on Israel's behalf -- despite 80% of Democratic VOTERS being against U.S. military aid to Israel.

Trump son-in-law Jared Kushner called House Dem Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (aka "AIPAC Shakur"), and they met -- to talk about "housing & affordability".... but that's NOT what they talked about.

Corporate / legacy media lied to you, & expected you to believe their B.S. Independent media knows better.

The issues you elaborated are important in primaries where people actually care what the Democrat party stands for. None of them are important in a general election- people will come out because Trump is unpopular and so are his policies- economics, inflation, this is what matters and why he loses. Foreign policy will have little or nothing to do with it.

Affordability,, corruption to the tune of $2 billion dollars, healthcare, Col. Bone Spur's inability to deliver on his promises, tariffs, gas prices, and the war with Iran is why Republicans will lose. Nothing more, nothing less.

Judge Michael Luttig discusses one way: a Trump loyalist house clerk fails to seat democrat representatives.



For those who would rather read:

Judge luttig is concerned that a Trump loyalist clerk in the house will refuse to seat democrat representatives on Jan 3 so that Republicans can keep majority.

On what grounds would a clerk potentially do that?

Judge Michael Luttig's concern centers on the unique constitutional procedure used to organize a new Congress every two years.
Because the House of Representatives completely disbands at the end of a two-year term, there is no Speaker when a new Congress convenes on January 3. Instead, the Clerk of the House temporarily presides over the chamber until a Speaker is elected.
The grounds and mechanisms a loyalist Clerk might exploit to execute this hypothetical scenario break down as follows:
1. Control Over the Official Roll Call
By federal statute (2 U.S.C. 26), the Clerk is tasked with compiling the "roll of Representatives-elect" before the new Congress meets. Only those listed on this official roll are permitted to vote for the new Speaker or participate in organizing the House.
* The Ground: A partisan Clerk could assert administrative or procedural authority to leave specific Democratic Representatives-elect off the roll.
* The Pretext: The Clerk might cite ongoing state recounts, active election integrity lawsuits, alleged voting irregularities, or missing/delayed state certification paperwork as a reason to exclude their names.
2. Exploiting Article I, Section 5
Article I, Section 5 of the U.S. Constitution states: "Each House shall be the Judge of the Elections, Returns and Qualifications of its own Members."
* The Ground: Traditionally, "Elections and Returns" allows the House to settle disputed election contests.
* The Execution: If the Clerk omits enough Democrats from the initial roll, the remaining Republicansholding an artificial majority of those seatedcould pass a motion refusing to seat the excluded Democrats, claiming the election results in those districts are under review or invalid.
3. Presiding Officer Discretion (Ignoring Points of Order)
Because the Clerk acts as the presiding officer during the initial roll call, they rule on points of order and parliamentary objections.
* The Ground: If Democrats object to being excluded or attempt to force a vote to amend the roll, a partisan Clerk could simply refuse to recognize them, rule their motions out of order, or decline to yield the floor.
The Legal and Constitutional Barriers
While Luttig highlights this as a theoretical "nightmare scenario" for a constitutional crisis, executing it would run into major legal hurdles:
* Powell v. McCormack (1969): The U.S. Supreme Court ruled that Congress cannot refuse to seat a duly elected member who meets the three constitutional qualifications (age, citizenship, and residency) if their state has certified the election. Arbitrarily excluding certified winners violates the Constitution.
* Federal Judicial Intervention: The excluded members-elect would immediately file an emergency lawsuit in federal court. Lower federal courts would almost certainly issue an injunction ordering the Clerk to include all state-certified members on the roll.
* The Enforceability Problem: Luttig's ultimate warning is that even if a court orders the Clerk to list the Democrats, a non-compliant House leadership or Clerk might defy the court order, claiming under the Speech or Debate Clause or the Separation of Powers doctrine that the judiciary has no jurisdiction over internal House proceedings.

Many are still waiting for the $5k to decide who is the least offensive. I made my mind up when he reneged on the $2k. That was the last straw.
