Former GA governor Roy Barnes was DA Willis' first choice as prosecutor. He turned it down because he had some FBI involved threats from someone who claimed he was "too close to the Jews". He thus had to live with body guards for 4 years and didn't want to live with it for the rest of his life.

Willis and Barnes faced off in court once. She beat him in the case, but he got it overturned at the Supreme Court.

He said she is very capable!

This testimony makes her sound like a seriously committed badass! She's fighting for Justice in the face of threats on her life and character assassination that the former good old boy governor couldn't withstand.

Team Trump wants us to imagine she's doing it for a cruise in the Caribbean with her boyfriend. Pleeeaaassseee.
She's the making of a movie in real time.

At the end of this, a lawyer for team trump stands up merely to say they are great friends, that he considers Roy to be the finest lawyer ever, and basically apologizes for him being on the opposite side, saying "whatever needs to be done must be done to represent your client."

In other words, he's apologizing for trying to take down Fani Willis - he's getting paid for it.
Sad.

Once again, Fani's side comes off smelling like roses.

Her father, a lawyer, moved to South Africa because of association with Nelson Mandela. He planned to live there the rest of his life, but had to leave because of political issues in the country.

He's now making a documentary film on the civil rights.

He testified about all the racist graffiti and death threats upon their home after his daughter took on the challenge of prosecuting Trump.

These days, American Chinese-only communities mostly make their money by being tourist traps with lots of restaurants that stay open late.

I am a devotee of Chinese restaurants. Here in the inner Richmond district of SF, there are what seems like 20 of them within walking distance of my home. They mostly all close at 8PM sharp. The Vietnamese ones close at 9, and the Japanese 9 to 10, and the Thai close at 10. You want late night food around here, it is Kentucky Fried Chicken or Mels Diner, both closing at 12AM. Asians are smart. No staying up late for small money to serve drunks, druggies, and perps. Go to Chinatown after dark and every restaurant and store is shuttered with steel roll down doors after dark. Lunch is the last meal served in many restaurants there.

Where are these late night Chinese restaurants in Eastern Oregon?

I was referring to big city Chinatown areas and was pointing out our American segregated Chinese communities compared to the ones mentioned in Africa. I didn't mean to suggest there weren't Chinese restaurants outside of American Chinatown communities. I have 3 Chinese restaurants in my little eastern Oregon town as well as a Japanese, a Thai and a Cambodian/Vietnamese restaurant. I had dinner at the Japanese restaurant just a few hours ago. If I wanted food in the middle of the night, Denny's and a McDonald's 10 miles away are the only options, but I don't stay out late these days..

The other local restaurants all close at 9 or 10 PM, maybe later for the fast food places. I'll admit what I said is probably wrong about restaurants staying open late. My memories of Chinese restaurants staying open past midnight is from my years in the Bay Area (1960s to early 1990s) and I remember eating in restaurants in the Oakland and San Francisco Chinatowns as late as 2 AM. However, that was 30 plus years ago and may have just been one or two restaurants in each one. Things have probably changed much over the years.

OK, let's make it real simple.

I don't support the MIC
I don't support our proxy war with Russia (that we're losing in multiple ways, including over 500K KIA Ukranians)
A peace deal & neutral Ukraine 2 years ago a far superior outcome
Ditto for a Closed Southern Border
No shadow banning or censorship
Free Julian Assange & release the J6 tapes - what is the UniParty hiding?
Classify hydro and nuclear power as Green Energy - duh
Massively promote LNG, insulation, hybrids, and white rooftops - common sense moves, not the Lefty religious fantasies
Hammer drug cartels
Cheap energy & food
Increase water storage in California
Massively increase CA underground water banking via farms & state & local lands
Instead of the bullet train to nowhere, incentivize warehouse solar panels, esp in Central Valley
Log & thin our forests; heavy spring & fall controlled burns; use local, not-busy fire crews for management & safety
Spend 100% of infrastructure Billions... on infrastructure! Not community centers, vanity projects, political patronage, school districts, etc. Rebuild, say, 500 bridges. Now, jobs at home for Americans
Catch & convict the violent youth preying on elderly Asians; make examples
Shut down the organized retail theft rings
Hire big police academy classes for Oakland and The City
Put the National Guard in big lawless cities, reducing crime & providing positive role models

There's a start.

I appreciate the compliment, but I really don't deserve it. I have Richmond District roots, because both of my parents were born and raised in the Richmond District, but I was born and raised in the Haight-Ashbury District, in tiny apartments, an area now known as Cole Valley. As a kid, I spent some time in the Richmond, visiting one grandfather who lived on 24th Avenue near Geary, and the other grandmother who lived on 15th Avenue near Geary. When I was old enough to get a bicycle, I used to pedal through Golden Gate Park to my grandmother's house, to water her garden, and she would give me 50 cents and lunch, where she would lecture me on saving money and investing it in PGE stocks. My other grandmother's sister lived on 16th Avenue near Anza, and we used to visit her also. Her family also owned a property in Lagunitas, in Marin County, a big old log cabin, and several acres of forest, where we kids all gathered for outings, and swimming in the creek nearby. I've lived in a lot of places since, but about 3 years ago, I sold my home and moved in to the Richmond, 4th Ave, not far from Clement and all the restaurants.

Nope. I used to belong to Lincoln Park Golf Club, and lots of players there raved about El Sombrero. Tia Margarita not so much. I never hung out in the Richmond much in my adult years until now. Back in the 1970s I was dating a coed from SF State, and when we went for Mexican food, she always wanted to go to Casa Linda, at 3rd and Geary. They had Mole Poblano. When I lived in Noe Valley, Roosevelt's Tamale Parlor on 24th st. was the place, until the Chronicle featured them in the Food section, and soon there was a line out the door with New Yorkers and other tourists. The owner got rid of the booths, put in tables to seat a bigger crowd. The plates got smaller, and prices got bigger. The old waitress said to to heck with this, and went back to live in Mexico. Then there was Ristorante Guadalajara, where everyone went at 2AM to have Menudo. It was supposed to prevent getting hangovers. One good place in SF is La Corneta Taqueria in Glen Park. Their Salmon Taco is really good.

Out of many views in San Francisco, this is my favorite. My Dad had a good friend, a Jewish aristocrat who had left Austria to escape the Nazis. He said it was the most beautiful spot in the world. Sometimes surfers would surf from the beach below. While waiting for the green to clear, we often tried to hit one into the ocean from between the two trees. Not reachable for me. Lowell's high school golf team had a couple who were also good surfers, and they tried to hit the surfers on the beach below from the tee. They couldn't reach them either.

So what club did you use?

Nice. You have so many ties to the Richmond district. You qualify. :-). Sadly, my wife and I only spent a short time with our twins on 35th, Geary/ Clement in 1985 before moving to Martinez. My mom passed in 2010 and that was the last of my family in the Richmond. 60 years in total. All the places you mentioned I'm very familiar with. As you've probably seen me write on this board, my wife and I still walk in SF three days per week and we often go through Cole Valley, the Haight, Clement by where you live, etc. We still love SF.

Developer Trump used tried and true methods to evaluate his properties, which was reviewed by dozens of accountants, lawyers, real estate and government officials. He took out a loan (loans), and repaid the loans. Everybody was satisfied.

Now years later, Democrat Lawfare tactics have criminalized this lawful business conduct, and a rigged Democrat district and judge fined him $330 Million - where no crime exists. These charges likely would not have been filed if he exited political life.

This may or may not be overturned by the state or Federal Supreme Courts.

Do I have it right?
