More musings on the unreliability of polls in the Trump era. A NY Times poll released today has Trump even with Biden with women and leading Biden with Hispanics. I simply do not believe either of those results.

Looking at those crosstabs, it's even worse for Biden than I thought.

Looking at those crosstabs, it's even worse for Biden than I thought.
Does that include the crosstab in which 36% of the poll is from rural locations and 20% of the 2020 election was from rural elections.

Since roughly the Dobbs ruling, we have seen polls regularly underestimate Democratic performance, compared to the actual margins in midterm and special elections. Similar things with Trump's margins in the primary states. Maybe the presidential election will be different; you'd expect higher turnout and a more representative sample there. But it's a thing to keep an eye on.

In terms of number of votes, Traitor Trump lost by more black votes in 2020 than in 2016. This is because of higher turnout in 2020.

What I find off in the "analysis" of the upcoming election by MAGA faithful here is that were Trump to win, that isn't an "I told you so" or an owning of the Libs. It's just a horrible commentary on the success of misinformation; America's disintegration of rule of law; the abandonment of democracy; the country's loss of moral compass; and the success of hierarchy, tribalism, and biased media over reality and foundational values.
If Trump wins it should be bleak day for anyone smart enough to have attended Cal, and a Pyrrhic victory for his supporters. What would happen next would be horrific and things that his supporters will swear will never happen, and then when they happen say they didn't happen. No matter how Republican or Conservative or even a fan of Trump, no rational person should want him to return to power.
A second Trump term would be more lawless, more divisive, more hostile, more partisan, more self-serving, more corrupt, more damaging to American interests, and will more than likely change the role and powers of the presidency forever. We would have elected a king that would self pardon and pardon all loyalists who do his questionable or illegal bidding, and he would NEVER leave office.
This is not fear mongering. It is literally based on what he says and what he has done and who he self-evidentially is. I cannot believe that Americans of even average intelligence and information cannot see this and would not want to prevent it. Or even take the chance that it is true. Biden is not perfect, Whereas Trump is what he always accuses others of being "the end of our country." He always projects that which he is guilty of.

Before I read on, let me stop right here and simply say what I was trying to say before - just because some tweeter calls it porn doesn't mean it is porn. And if oral sex us discussed in a book, doesn't make it a Tracy Lords.
Same with violence. A machine gun and knife slaying could be gratuitous in film, however this book might simply address a father who gets drunk and is violent, abusive, with his family. The book might address this issue in a way that allows the student reader to mature in understanding between appropriate anger and inappropriate out of control behavior.
My point was to not trust people's labels in tweets, sound bites, TikToks.

That book is pornographic, it should not be in a school library. You can see some of the content in that tweet thread. Pushing this content onto minors amounts to grooming.
