I don't think anyone can reasonably disagree about that person being fired.

Voter ID doesn't prevent people from voting, it prevents them from cheating.

Given how much they are losing margins among lower-income voters, Democrats should completely flip-flop on this and start supporting Voter ID. They are actually winning the lower-turnout elections now.

Yes, Democratic Progressive policies have bad side effects that are the natural consequences of an overly permissive society. With that said, I would have asked Maher if there are other explanations for why tRump won……and I would have quoted Bill himself:

Bill told Michael Douglas at the beginning of the show that one of the biggest Google searches during the Election was:

"Did Joe Biden withdraw from the race?"

Bill, during 2016 Election:

"And that, in a nutshell, is America's celebrated, undecided voter: put on a pedestal by the media as if they were Hamlet in a think-tank, searching out every last bit of information, high-minded arbiters pouring over policy positions and matching them against their own philosophies. Please, they mostly fall into a category political scientists call 'low information voters,' otherwise known as 'dipsh@its'"

He also said:

1. A majority of Americans cannot name a single branch of government or explain what the Bill of Rights is;

2. 24% can't name the country that the U.S. fought in the Revolutionary War;

3. 2/3 don't know what the holding of Roe v. Wade is;

4. 2/3 don't know what the Food and Drug Administration does;

5. 50% don't know each state has two senators;

6. More than 50% can't name their congressman;

7. The average voter thinks 24% of the U.S. budget goes to foreign aid (less than 1% does);

8. 18% thinks the sun revolves around the earth;

9. 50% don't know that Judaism predates Christianity

I would have liked to discuss with Bill and his panelists these thoughts of mine:

1. Is there a level of misconduct that a candidate can engage in that is disqualifying?

2. Is there a level of misconduct that a candidate can engage in that it can legitimately be raised and discussed without those discussing it being accused of having "derangement syndrome?"

3. Is there a level of misconduct that a candidate can engage in that those who knowingly vote them into office can be criticized without those who do the criticizing being accused of being elitist, patronizing and not "feeling the pain" of those voters?

4. If the answer to those questions is "Yes," then what does that level of misconduct look like? Richard Nixon? George Santos? Eric Adams? Spiro Agnew?

I assume that those that answered "Yes" to those questions and still voted for tRump believe that he either did not engage in a level of misconduct that is disqualifying or because they believe that all the charges leveled against him, civilly or criminally, were wrongfully brought and thus baseless.

The 750 billionaires in America made $2.2 trillion off tRump's tax cuts. I get why they voted for tRump.

I have always voted against my best financial interests. I'm kinda p@issed off now. I'm not sure I will ever do it again. I'm going to sit back and hopefully make some money from tRump's policies and hopefully he doesn't crater the economy.

Regarding the No ID thing and the states that went for Harris, that is a classic "correlation-does-not-equal-causation". It's the liberal states that have the NO ID laws. That said, I'm for having to show ID. Who the heck doesn't have an ID? This is one of the dumb things liberals do.

As far as Trump and California, that idiot thinks we can solve our wildfire problems if we "rake our forests". Yeah, California sucks so much that my three-bedroom house is worth a small fortune because so many people want to be where I am.

I'd love for Gavin Newsom to be our 48th President (or 49th, should Trump croaks early). Not gonna lie, I am not a JD Vance hater. He and Newsom could have some great debates; I wouldn't miss them for the world.

Make IDs free and easy to get after normal business hours. Then no problem.

I've always thought that voter ID laws were solving a problem that doesn't exist (incidents of non-citizens voting are vanishingly rare). But if people really want them, whatever. I just think it's a waste of effort.

Many of the Republican policy positions are framed as solutions to made up problems.

Progressives have to cheat bc their positions are so unpopular.

Like increased social program giveaways called 'infrastructure' bills.

Or Green New Scam called "Inflation Reduction Act".

Illegal immigrants called "migrants".

Calling prison work "slavery".

IDs are generally free for those who are poor. Why do places need to be open after normal business hours?

I'm sure she's a lovely woman. I understand she's a supervisor but I'm surprised that her subordinates actually carried out her ridiculous order. This person was caught but I imagine there must be others.

The government employees explained to the outlet that as a result of the guidance, "at least 20 homes with Trump signs or flags" in Lake Placid, Florida, had been skipped. As a result, residents did not have an "opportunity to qualify for FEMA assistance."

Every time I read these stories it just reinforces how many people Trump needs to eject out of our government.

The FEMA supervisor has just been relieved of her duties. FEMA believes it was an isolated incident.

This is absolutely reprehensible and this person 100% deserves to be fired.

With that said, y'all are a bunch of empty suits when it comes to this. You're riding high horses without legs. The guy you endlessly stump for on this board (and who you likely voted for) thinks the same way as this horrible FEMA employee, WHO WE ALL AGREE SHOULD NOT HAVE HER JOB. Trump IS her, but as President.

27 US States Are Going Broke-Really great video on states that have some serious challenges ahead. New Jersey, Connecticut and MA are in bad shape due to "Generous Pensions" that were promised decades ago to public employees and they can't afford it, they're going into deep debt. This could be very bad news nationally if half the countries states are going into debt. States are trying to overcome the debt by raising taxes, but the more taxes go up, the less people stick around. Illinois is currently begging Congress for 9 billion.

As a fellow Oregonian you know that we were in this boat maybe a decade ago. Our government made adjustments...note that we were not listed among the states with unfunded problems. It can be managed, there just has to be a will to do it.

I'll also say that as someone with a family member that is in one of these pension plans I bristle at the notion that the states' problems are due to the pension. The state gets a bargain on present day labor expenses (ie, we accept less salary in exchange for the promise of that pension). Many of those employees stay long term, generally meaning more stability, more experienced / better employees, reduced expenses with hiring and training new staff.

FEMA worker that was fired went on Rollie Martin's show and thinks she's clearing herself, but instead she has implicated herself and pretty much everybody at FEMA for political discrimination. They had a policy to deal with "violent" homes. IE People would yell/threaten FEMA workers, so she's trying to say because one house with a Trump sign was aggressive they would create a "Trend" and avoid all homes with a Trump sign and sometimes everybody on that street regardless if they had a sign or not. My jaw dropped she would do this. There should be people that go to jail over this.

I found it on this conservative guys channel, you can skip the commentary and just watch the actual video, I timestamped this.

"Was there a trend". I thought you were justifying fema's actions because there may have been a trend. Can't do that. If you weren't implying that then sorry.

I would say that if this was actually happening on a wide scale, I could understand the reluctance to knock on those doors. Still wouldn't justify an order not to, of course.
