The actual extent of the damage from operation Spiderweb has been revised from 41 down to anywhere between 6 and 12, and some of these damaged bombers might have been inoperable (used for spare parts or decoys).

It was a huge PR win nevertheless, coming in at a time when Ukrainian morale has been suffering as their losses mount and their frontlines positions are being overrun as the Russians are opening new fronts, but the drone operation is not going to have much effect on the conduct or the outcome of this war.

There is always a large element of boomers in this country who are more susceptible to lowbrow cold war-era narratives...

In due time once the fog of war clears and facts like the extent of the Ukrainian losses (near a million KIAs) emerge, the morbid futility and cynicism of having used Ukraine in order to weaken Russia will be clear.
movielover

My gut tells me it is well over a million KIA plus 200-300K amputees. Over two years ago MacGregor was saying 600K KIA and 150K amputees. Other reports were equally horrific, a historically lopsided war.

Then Ukraine sends in untrained fathers and grandfathers scooped off the streets? This wS 18 months ago. I looked for new sources, found the Kiev Independent, and their own articles quoted infantry men in their 40s and 50s. Then subsequently they stopped listing ages.

Russia seems to have really minimized casualties for the general public by first using standoff artillery in mass, then prison conscripts, and now his 3 / 6 small unit attack teams with close drone support, AI, etc. Really limits casualties.

Re grooming... Here is a little something from my home state to chew on.

I am not aware that students are encouraged to dress up like their favorite African American hero during Black History month (January), to wear Hijabs during Arab Heritage Month (April), to wear dresses during Women's History Month (March), etc., etc., etc. Only LBGQT months and dressing like drag queens, as if being a drag queen is inherently representative of homosexuality.

An Oregon middle school encouraged students to dress up as "drag queens" and their favorite "queer hero" this week in celebration of Pride Month, but one parent said families weren't notified ahead of time.

At the Arts & Technology Academy in the Eugene School District 4J, students celebrated "Pride Spirit Week" with a different theme each day intended to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community, according to a memo obtained by Fox News Digital.

On Monday, students were encouraged to "wear as many colors as they could" for "Rainbow-Out" day. On Tuesday, they were told to wear all black "in remembrance of lost members of the LGBTQIA+ community."

Wednesday was "Drag Day" where students were told to "dress like a drag queen/king/monarch or dress up as a different gender."

Thursday was "Queer Hero Day" where students picked their favorite "queer hero," such as Freddie Mercury or Chappell Roan.

The week's events concluded with "Pride Flag Friday," where students were told to "dress up as the pride flag of your choice."

A parent who spoke to Fox News Digital said that the school principal sent out a notice to parents about the Pride Spirit Week on Monday afternoon, about 15 minutes after students were let out for the day. The email also said that the weekly activities would coincide with learning in the classroom about "the history of the LGBTQ+ civil rights movement."

The parent was surprised to learn of the activities after the week had already kicked off and wondered why the school hadn't shared with families in advance.

According to Oregon state law, schools are required to notify parents and guardians ahead of instruction on human sexuality.

When reached for comment by Fox News Digital, a spokesperson for the Eugene School District 4J confirmed that parents were notified Monday afternoon about the week's activities.

Most of the lessons and activities were not considered part of formal instruction on human sexuality, the district said, but parents should've been notified earlier.

The district vowed to "work more closely with schools around notice for thematic and spirit weeks," saying it is their expectation that schools communicate with families about special events weeks in advance and comply with Oregon law in allowing families the opportunity to review human sexuality curriculum and opt out in advance.

The activities and lessons aligned with the Oregon Department of Education's LGBTQ2SIA+ Student Success Plan, the district added. LGBTQ2SIA+ stands for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender/non-binary, Queer/Questioning, Two-Spirit, Intersex and Asexual, with the plus sign referring to other identities.

The school's Pride Spirit Week was meant to show support for LGBTQ+ students and their families and cultivate an inclusive climate.

"We remain deeply committed to fostering inclusive, safe learning spaces-and doing so in partnership with families. That means ensuring our communication is clear, our curriculum is aligned, and our students feel like they belong," the district said.

There are over 1200 public schools in Oregon. It looks like you found one that used questionable judgement.

Since it was only encouraged and not mandatory, I'm not too bothered by it, though they should have let parents know ahead of time. It might be interesting to know the make up of the student body. Do they have a high percentage of LGBTQIA+ students? The teenage years for those students dealing with being different are rough. That might make a difference though I know that distinction will trigger outsiders.

You posted about it and apparently you thought it was significant. I see it as another time when right wing news outlets (Fox News in this case) find an outlier case and blow it out of proportion, implying it's a broad trend among their political enemies when in reality, it's just an isolated case.

There weren't 1,533 competitors at the CA State Track Championships. There were much less who distinguished themselves against biological women and made the finals. Of the few women who made it there, one was a biological man competing against biological women. That person won.

"It is only one example, big deal"

ANY instance of encouraging cross dressing / dressing in drag is outrageous. Performative action goes way beyond merely encouraging understanding and acceptance. Plus, since when did drag queens become some sort of protected class? What's next, wear S&M to school day to show solidarity with the bulls from the Castro? Give me a break.

Did you notice that over 1200 Oregon public schools didn't encourage dressing as Drag Queens? Seems like another attempt to make a mountain out of a molehill. And there are always molehills out there to be exploited.

THE PLOT THICKENS . . .

A two-count indictment, which was filed under seal in federal court in Tennessee last month and unsealed Friday, alleges Abrego Garcia, 29, participated in a yearslong conspiracy to haul undocumented migrants from Texas to the interior of the country.

The alleged conspiracy spanned nearly a decade and involved the domestic transport of thousands of noncitizens from Mexico and Central America, including some children, in exchange for thousands of dollars, according to the indictment.

Abrego-Garica is alleged to have participated in more than 100 such trips, according to the indictment. Among those allegedly transported were members of the Salvadoran gang MS-13, sources familiar with the investigation said.

Abrego-Garcia is the only member of the alleged conspiracy charged in the new indictment.

So in fact it was always possible to bring Abrego Garcia back to the US and do a proper court procedure. How about that.

If the government can prove criminality by him, then that's fine, deport him or whatever. The issue was that they hadn't done that before.
