The pollsters are herding to tie results to protect their reputation from being an outlier and being wrong. The polls have little to tell us at this point in 2024.

Many 'polls' are really influence operations- 98% had HRC winning, some by double digits. Rasmussen was the most accurate.

I think it was the GOP that told us polls don't matter.

That said, I am seeing a lot of more support for Trump even here in California that I ever have before. Not sure if that is just because his supporters have gotten more brazen or because he actually has more support this time around.

That said, I am seeing a lot of more support for Trump even here in California that I ever have before. Not sure if that is just because his supporters have gotten more brazen or because he actually has more support this time around.


One possible dynamic is that some of the large "safe" states have moved a bit to the right (like NY, CA, FL), but the swing states haven't moved much at all, maybe even slightly left. We saw that dynamic in the midterm, and some polling supports this idea.

Of course, a presidential year is a different electorate, so who knows what happens. We won't know until next week.

You know what makes me sad about todays journalism, I use to have so much respect for the AP and Reuters. They were like the gold standard of factual reporting. But I saw headlines from them saying Trump called for Liz Cheney to be killed but if you watch the whole clip, he's said if she had to face guns pointed at her she wouldn't be so in favor of sending troops to war. There literally is no organization that has trust anymore and that's the saddest thing to me about journalism.
