This still doesn't excuse the actions of the J6 insurrectionists. I learned when I was 6 that "Johnny and Billy and Ray told me to do it" wasn't a winning defense. They were all old enough to know right from wrong. If you're gonna do the crime, you gotta be prepared to do the time.

The time didn't fit the "crime." Some were let into the Capitol.
They didn't understand that the pitched battle between the cops and the insurrectionists meant visitors weren't welcome that day?

The obvious question you have to ask yourself is, what were the undercover FBI agents doing there in the first place?
The obvious answer is that they were infiltrating a criminal conspiracy to get information about what they were planning and who was doing what. That's been a standard procedure for decades. This is hardly the first time the FBI has done this.
You were told that they weren't there to begin with. What changed?

Getting information is one thing, agitating and enabling the protest, or turning it into a violent one is another. And yes, it's hardly the first time it has been done, the name for those types of operations is agent provocateur or agitprop.

You're ignoring the fact that the insurrectionists are adults and should know the difference between right and wrong. Somebody (or some people) saying we should attack the Capitol doesn't absolve the insurrectionists from guilt.

The issue here is, who did the rioting on J6, and who did the strolling...

Plenty of precedents of feds infiltrating protest movements to paint them as violent radicals, disrupt and discredit them (see fed program Cointelpro).

I agree with you.

And for your edification, not only have their been countless Evening News pieces replaying the speech making by Trump saying how "you've got to fight, fight like hell or you won't have a country", and directing the crowd that HE assembled to march to the Capitol, but also a group of bipartisan congressmen prepared for you lengthy reviews to assist in overcoming your partisan filter.

Yet, you are unable. Unable.

And that makes me pity you.

Certainly Twitter randos should be able to see and here actual video of Trump speaking in front of a camera.
We don't need reporters other than to post trump in his own words.

I guess that's your point.
Some folks aren't interested in what actually happened, but in the rando rage.

And then they become flummoxed by simply typing TDS over and over again.

Between this and the tsunami warning for Berkeley (because somehow a big wave is going to make it through the Golden Gate opening, travel across the bay, and still hit the eastern shore with great force?), it seems like we need a total and complete shutdown of the NWS until we can figure out what's going on.

The National Weather Service has nothing to do with issuing Tsunami Warnings. That's done by the Tsunami Warning Centers (there are at least 3 or 4 with ones in Alaska and Hawaii) and the National Weather Service just passes them along through their well established communications network. I do recall there was a small tsunami inside the bay that hit Berkeley after the 1964 Alaska earthquake (I'm relying on my memory, so I could be wrong about this) though the recent earthquake wasn't anywhere near that strong. I agree that mentioning Berkeley in the tsunami warning was overkill and could have waited 30 minutes or so until they had tsunami reports from near the epicenter.

As for the tornado warning, there were trees downed, so it was at least a severe thunderstorm. They said the storm had rotation so that would make a tornado possible. However, the radar is in the Santa Cruz mountains if I'm not mistaken (Mt. Umunhum?), so the radar beam would probably be sampling a couple thousand feet above ground at San Francisco. That makes it difficult to be certain whether there is a tornado at the surface or just a rotating mesocyclone aloft. Usually the decision is to err on the side of caution and issue the tornado warning though it's more of an art than a science. Better to issue a warning and have a false alarm than to not issue and have people get hurt or killed by an unwarned upon tornado that they weren't prepared for. West coast forecasters don't get nearly as much practice as the ones in Oklahoma and Kansas, so they tend to be less skilled at it.
