One of the first "geography sayings" I ever heard was that Greenland is mostly ice... and Iceland is mostly green. Therefore, it would seem to make sense that we take over both of them and flip-flop the names.

I would also recommend jumping the two of them over Canada, as the 51st and 52nd states. Canada can be 53. I think that will help keep the Canadians from getting too uppity.
