Don't forget Nazi. Centrist Democrats who support actual Nazis in Ukraine love to use that one.

It was pretty dumb for the party leadership to line up behind another 80-year-old candidate when everyone is still pissed about the Joe Biden experience.

yup, even the stalwarts here ditched her notwithstanding Paltners deficits. Platner though is perhaps already a caricature of himself ….so how this plays out will be interesting.

Of course Loonmer would say that, but it's more likely that AOC is referring to Buchanan or Lincoln.

Anyways, keep rooting for Trump to be covering up for pedos as you did earlier today.

^ Yeah, AOC seems to be referring to the probability that, if you take 45 people who were in a situation where, if gay, they probably "had" to remain in the closet, there is a strong statistical likelihood that some were gay. I know some prefer to believe that she knows that Obama is gay, but that is because they see that as trashing Obama.

They didn't just line up behind her. They recruited her to run because they were terrified of Plattner winning, just like they threw their support behind Biden when they panicked about Sanders winning the Democratic presidential nomination.

I wouldn't worry too much. Democrats that run as progressives tend to fall in line once they get to Washington and become part of the system.

It's amazing how people don't care about tattoos when you start talking about actual economic issues. Democrats run away from those most of the time in campaigns.

Whether he actually works to do any of that stuff if he beats Collins remains to be seen.

Maybe. Or maybe "the system" just kind of requires that you do this if you want to get anything done. Having one vote in Congress is only one vote.

Who cares what they are supposed to do? I'm far more interested in what actually happens, not what happens in some dream world. If this country is going to get fixed, it starts with being honest about what actually happens in our government rather than what the idiots at No Kings protests thinks happens while they are at brunch and paying no attention as Democrats do most of the same stuff that Republicans do.

Not really. They are supposed to talk about doing stuff, not actually do stuff. Both sides, unfortunately. Every now and then, something gets done, once the grifters agree on a price for their vote.

The people that post this stuff believe that it is somehow bad to be gay, as evidenced by the fact that they only perpetuate the rumors when they are about someone whose politics they disagree with.

If anybody looks bad here, it's the people circulating the rumors. And yes, if some Dem is doing the same thing (a certain GOP Senator comes to mind), it doesn't make it okay.

The problem with Obama, or say Tom Cotton, or Lindsay Graham being closeted homo/bisexuals is not them being gay, it is the fact that they would be blackmailed for being gay.

Politicians are much more likely to have serious skeletons in their closets because if they're compromised, they can be easily controlled, so being compromised is a fast track in politics. That's how you end up with someone like serial child molester Denis Hastert as the Speaker of the House.

That's a good point and, to your credit, you mention people from different sides of the aisle. But what I'm seeing is people trying to "out" politicians who they disagree with, but not the ones on "their side", which leads me to conclude that they think homosexuality is something to be ashamed of.

Sure, there is a lot of that. Also, people's Overton window wrt to figures on the other camp tends to be much wider, and much narrower for those politicians in our camp.
