I watched that and concluded that she's a horrible, racist person. Why would you pollute our board with this? It makes no sense and has no value whatsoever

For Democrats, why does everything always seem to be about "race"?

Given some of the stuff we hear from Stephen Miller and his cohort these days, I think the Republicans are now starting to make everything about race too.

How about this DJT and MAGAs? MAGA Nation stacking Dem candidates and injuring people. Address this and take responsibility!

It's dangerous to be a Dem and I'm sick of MAGA making me feel that way.

You do know white people are included in this, right? This doesn't back up the repeated claims of racism.

I should have said "many Democrats", or at least "some Democrats" instead of generalizing beyond what I feel to be true. And I agree with you about Stephen Miller. I don't know where Trump managed to find this guy, but he does not need him, and I think he hurts the Republican name at least, and more. I don't know enough Republicans to be able to generalize about the way they generally think or act.

Whoa hold up pardner. Your MaGA friend just posted in this thread about side shows in LA. That was all about race. He has never posted about white kids motocross trespassing in the Appalachias, I'll tell you that.

I'd say about 98% of my thoughts and posts are not about race AT ALL. I wish the same could be said about MAGAs.

Thanks for your time City. Beautiful day in the City today, the best damn city in America

I watched the clip earlier, and still don't know what race the folks were that did the street takeover. Car racing and street racing is not unique to one race. Let's try to keep this on breaking news instead of whatever your brain pops each nanosecond.

I don't have any friends who identify as MAGA. What is that anyway? A political party, or what? Do they have an initiation and do they pay dues? Are they registered anywhere?

Just because someone here posts what you see as side shows in LA, what makes you jump on the racial aspect of it? That is your interpretation. There are some who see racism everywhere, and become obsessed with it, and must call it out. OK. But do they ever call out the reverse, when they see it? Or are they blind to that. I think that it then becomes prejudice. Just because you see white skin in a parent, does that mean the person must be racist? And when do her kids become racist? Are they born that way? Or do they acquire it?

I was once living in Manhattan, 122nd St and West Amsterdam, Morningside Park. I have told the story before. The Black man who owned the corner Diner, where I ate all my meals, and I became fast friends. One night, I was having dinner there, and on the stool next to me was a young Black man, who told me he was a student at Hunter College. He said he was studying Sociology.

He said he was flunking out. He said all his papers were getting an "F" grade, and asked me if I would read one of his papers and tell him what he was doing wrong. The next time we met, he gave me a paper to read. There were so many mistakes, I could hardly begin to make sense of it. Spelling, grammar, punctuation, paragraphs, all of it was a mess. I went to his apartment and we went over it. I told him to rewrite it, and he gave me other papers to read. We had several meetings that summer, and he started writing better papers. He began getting C's. He even got a B on one or two papers.

One day, I showed up for our usual weekly meeting, and he was all dressed to go out. He apologized profusely, saying he had forgotten about our meeting. He said he gotten a phone call, and he had to go down to 125th street in Harlem, and "meet the brothers". He said he would have liked to invite me to come along, but he said, "The brothers just wouldn't understand". I understood the predicament he was in.

We have lost a lot of ground since the end of slavery and the first few years of Reconstruction, when hundreds of thousands of Black men in the South registered Republican, and within a few years had sent two Black Senators to the US Senate, along with one Black Congressman, and even better, they had taken control of the State Legislatures of all ten Southern States. During that time, however, the Democrats regrouped, and formed the White League in Louisiana, the Ku Klux Klan in Mississippi, and the Red Shirts in Alabama, who proceeded to terrorize or murder Blacks and many of their White sympathizers. The Democrats soon regained control of all the Southern States, through these paramilitary groups, who threatened and beat and lynched their way back into power. They gave the South Jim Crow laws, and another 90 years or so of Democrat rule, and oppression of the Black Americans and their sympathizers in the South. Tragic.

Very disappointed in you. Tons of obfuscation and misinformation. Here you go:

The Missing Context (The Party Realignment): Presenting 19th-century history as a commentary on today's parties ignores the major political realignment of the 20th century:
The 1930s (The New Deal): Black voters began shifting toward the Democratic Party under Franklin D. Roosevelt due to economic relief programs.
The 1960s (Civil Rights Act): Democratic President Lyndon B. Johnson signed the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Voting Rights Act of 1965. This prompted a backlash among white conservative Southern Democrats (often called "Dixiecrats").
The Southern Strategy: Over the following decades, conservative white voters in the South moved from the Democratic Party to the Republican Party, while Black voters overwhelmingly became a core constituency of the Democratic Party.
The Counter-Argument: Trying to tie the 19th-century Southern Democratic Party to modern Democrats is historically misleading. The ideology of 1870s Southern Democratsstates' rights, social conservatism, and racial hierarchyis fundamentally distinct from the policy platform of the modern Democratic Party.

We'll see. Socialists will try to block them, and also form a 'coalition government', but citizens across Europe are tired of their children being exploited, tortured, and trafficked, street crime, the degradation of their communities, and massive social welfare bills. It's unsustainable when educated people with means flee, and the nation's each bring in tens of thousands of new legal and illegal immigrants with no language or job skills. It's unsustainable.

Exactly. It was sent to me by family who used to live in the area and saw many neighborhoods degrade substantially.

Maybe seven years ago a relative was living in Orange County and woke up to every light-colored van, SUV, and truck, many white, with extensive graffiti 'tags'. He couldn't understand most of the tags, but went to an online forum, which said "This is their way of saying this is their turf now."

The second set of Civil rights laws, which had more GOP support than Democrats.

The Civil Rights Act of 1957, Vote Breakdown:

U.S. Senate: Passed 7218, with 43 Republicans and 29 Democrats voting in favor.

U.S. House of Representatives: Passed 286126, with 167 Republicans and 119 Democrats voting in favor.

The unspoken suggestion in this line of argument is that current Black voters don't know what's good for them and are voting wrong.

Throwback Machine. Never heard this story before. A young teenager was singing the Star Spangled Banner before an NBA playoff game years ago, forgot the words, and Maurice Cheeks stepped in to save her. And he can't sing, really. Class act. I guess a year ago they had a reunion. Two minute video.
