I used to walk more than a half mile each way to kindergarten. Sometimes I walked with others, sometimes I got a ride, but other times I did it alone. Good thing the.statute of limitations is up.

I don't know how long the walk was, but at age 5 I was walking multiple blocks to kindergarten (with friends).

Now, that was a long time ago in a different era. Would I have let my kids walk that far by themselves in the world we live in now? No. But it is not the state's place to arrest a parent for child endangerment if they make that choice.

When you think of all the other people who deserve to be arrested and then you see who we are putting our resources into arresting, it's no wonder the country is in its current state.

The charge was a misdemeanor, which can sometimes command a jail sentence, but seldom a trial by jury. It would cost the government too much for such a petty offense.
