If we were to rank candidates by depth of government experience, what would that look like?

I hear what you're saying, but it might be like asking straight dudes to be attracted to women based on their personality alone. Looks (with at least a dash of charisma) almost always factors into who is ultimately our president. Can anyone remember the last time we had a president who looked like an orange baboon? But in all seriousness, he is found to be an attractive guy by Republicans (don't make me find that image of that woman with the down-pointing arrow on her t-shirt).

The sad truth is that smarts, policy, and ability to govern take a backseat to likability and relatability aka the 'someone like me' factor. Personally, I want someone smarter and more ambitious than me as president.

Can't leave out looks (or maybe you're rolling that up with likability). There is no possible way in the United States, no matter how brilliant, likable, relate-able, and charming... that the man born Ric Ocasek could have become president.

Well, he did manage to convince

to marry him. That's gotta count for something...

Also, in a Presidential primary the policies are often pretty similar (well, these days anyway . . . it was different 20-30 years ago).

You know they said the same thing about Trump, not about his looks but his personality and public persona.

I think Ric could win in the right situation...but I get your general point. Just has to kill the mullet and dress unlike a rocker with nothing to lose.

p.s. yeah...weird looking rockers are the exception to looks.

Yeah people are pissed off at that guy. First thing I thought when I read Schultz was running... The U.S.A. does NOT need a Chief Executive Barista. For fcck sake, he sells coffee and has zero government experience. He deserves the mockery. Hell, the guy can't even win his own state or Seattle...not after selling the Sonics who moved to OKC. He is HATED in WA.

He's obese, but he can't quite be mistaken for Rocky Dennis ("Mask") just yet. See this link to see the original versus the Photoshop.

Legendary San Francisco Burlesque Performer Carol Doda Dies At 78

November 11, 2015

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) Legendary San Francisco burlesque performer Carol Doda has died. She was 78.
Doda died Monday afternoon at St. Luke's Hospital in San Francisco after a long stay.

Doda was born in Sonoma County and grew up in San Francisco. She got her start performing topless at the Condor Club in North Beach in the 60s. Her enhanced, voluptuous 44 bustline was iconic and sometimes referred to as the 'Twin Peaks of San Francisco.'
Her legendary act was go-go dancing on a grand piano as it descended from the ceiling using hydraulic motors. Within a decade, she eschewed her topless bikini altogether and performed nude.
Doda would later work as a local Bay Area television host, and owned a lingerie boutique in San Francisco.
A billboard bearing her larger-than-life image still looms above the Condor Club on Broadway.

Friend and fellow musician Dick Winn remembers the actress, dancer, musician and entrepreneur well.
"Not only the entertaining part: singer, dancer, comedian just the way she cared about people. She was just very kind. I don't know anybody who would say a bad thing about her," he told KPIX 5's Joe Vasquez.
Winn said Doda's kidneys were in bad shape.
"She went to sleep in the afternoon Monday and never woke up," Winn said. "I hated to see her go."
Friends of Doda are planning a memorial for her at Tupelo on Grant Avenue, on November 22.

Hey now, there's actually nothing wrong (outside of possible health-obesity issues, which actually affect a majority of 70 year old Americans) with a Turkey neck.

There is, however something very wrong with simply being a huge turkey.

Run as a democrat or a republican, fine.
Run as an independent when you know that a divide will throw the election to the House, which has a lead in State Delegates for Trump? = Destroy Starbucks!!!!

Trump must go away, above all else.
I'm hoping we can boot him from Washington ASAP. If he ends up in Hell, that'd be even better!

Yeah, I think there is simply a huge percentage of the country that is more racists in their bones (perhaps xenophobic is a more accurate term?) than I'd have imagined.

I'm sure there are quite a few xenophobes in the U.S., but I'd not be surprised if their xenophobia was grounded in racism. Even aside from the xenophobes, there are plenty of racists in the U.S. They've become much more bold and open about exhibiting their racism in the past three years. Even before then, however, there were plenty of racists in the U.S. You just happened to be fortunate enough not to be affected by them directly.

I have zero recollection of Booker as a football player for Furd.

"Cory Booker arrived at Stanford as a heralded football recruit. By the end, he was pushed off the team. How a rare setback shaped the potential presidential candidate."
