Have you read a treatise on the constitution authored by Obama? Have you seen SAT scores or grade transcripts? Do you know that there aren't 57 states? He is slick, but a scholar? NO.

Kelly, holding onto a view that Obama is low intelligence and using the examples you provide raises more questions about your current intelligence than his.
'My current intelligence'? OMG, what are you saying? I know, I know....I'm old. And because I'm old, I have grown to detest left wingers. Yeah, Bearacus, my last two years in school at Cal, ('68/69') left lasting impressions. But in this haze of senility, I remember you guys well.

1. Slip of the tongue. To bet so many of your chips on a bet than this slip of the tongue is instead actually proof that Obama wasn't clearly aware that there are 50 states is a very, very, very bad bet.

2. Presidents don't voluntarily release their college records. George W's transcripts were leaked to the New Yorker. So the fact that Obama hasn't made his private academic records public is proof of what again?

3. Obama was not born in the United States. You didn't state that, but if you want that one you can have it.

It's not about a release of college transcripts. The point is that Bush's, Gore's and Kerry's could be accessed. Not so with Obama. They are are sealed. I think with good purpose.

What on earth do you mean by "sealed"? Are your and my Cal academic records sealed? Or are they simply private and not shared with anyone who simply reaches out to the Registrar's Office asking for them?

To quote the great Leon Joworski (who was smart), I would rather have a man of practical insight than the smartest man (in his day it would only be a man). That said, people who are Presidents or leading contenders for President are relatively smart. Really smart Nixon was a jerk (I once lived next to him growing-up and I can say from personal experience he was a jerk), but he was a smart jerk. There are different types of smart, and I guess here people are looking a book smart primarily. For example, Carter graduated near the top of his college class whole playing sprint football, was technically a nuclear engineer while being one of the founder's of the Navy nuclear submarine program, and has won a Noble Prize. Most people would say this in indicative of someone really smart, but most historians would argue he did not have that successful Presidency. Like him or not, Reagan had very little formal education compared to recent Presidents, but got a lot of his agenda through.

Calling Biden or Obama dumb is just dumb. You don't have the success these guys have had being dumb. Both had to overcome significant hurdles to succeed (Biden had a horrible stutter, Obama had to overcome racial sterotypes)

I will vote for Biden if he gets the Dem nomination. I can understand someone calling him dumb, although it is probably an over simplification. Most people that call Obama dumb are morons, racists, or both because Obama is intelligent, and that is simply an objective fact. Facts are funny things. They just keep rolling along whether you believe them or not. I had a neighbor that was a brainiac physics major at Cal, graduated Harvard Law School and went on to become a patent attorney. He knew Obama at Harvard and was very impressed by him.

My best friend got his M.A. in Econ from Cal in 67'. He got a job in Sacramento in the office of the Budget Analyst. My friend, who was politcally conservative, got to know Reagan and thought him to be a lightweight. In fact, he became disillusioned with Republicans throughout the state government.I wouldn't vote for Trump or Hillary and Jim wouldn't vote for Carter or Reagan.

I am extremely confused by this post.
Anyone who doesn't have a track record on here but comes out guns a-blazing in at least one of their posts after having only one prior post on all BI (from 2014) just makes one wonder. There was another poster on here called iwantwinners that came and went with a lot of bluster and I assume that he used (or uses) another handle so that his views wouldn't be co-mingled with the other one. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but it's better in many ways for posters not named Cal Strong to post from one account only, especially in the politics forum.

Anyways, if you are a one handle guy, that's all good. Curious, since there were never any proper introductions: any reason for the five-year hiatus from posting?

Seems intellectually lazy. I created the account awhile ago to catch up with those I knew awhile ago from Clash of Clans. Good guys like burritos, NYCGOBEARS, and freshfunk. I don't post and rarely visit because family, work and sports keep me busy. Really odd that you just jump to conclusions. No worries. Doubt I would be posting much any time soon. Politics are better discussed with friends over whiskey and cigars instead of bickering with strangers online. Go Bears!

Hey DB, sorry if you felt that my default position of skepticism was unwarranted. On the internet, I think it's the opposite of lazy to be wary of posters who pop up out of nowhere with criticism of long-time posters. Criticisms fly all around here (thankfully with more decorum than completely random forums or any SFGate comment section). Anyways, hope you continue to contribute if you so choose and not have me affect that in any way.

The 5 presidential candidates in my adult life that stand out for their intelligence, in no particular order, are Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, Bill Clinton, Mitt Romney, and Al Gore. How many did you vote for?
I would replace Gore with Kerry.
I would eliminate Obama.

He also graduated mana cum laude from HLS, which should moot any need for him to release his transcripts. That is SCOTUS type smart.

I'm pretty sure tRump has undiagnosed, and thus untreated, learning disabilities. According to insiders he can barely read and he has the vocabulary of a 10 year old. It does not necessarily follow that a person with those disabilities is not smart, but tRump happens to be not very bright as well.

By golly...Joe got the memo and figured it out. Frankly I like candidates who have enough self-control to change behavior. Impulse control...a sign of leadership ability by simply not being a jackass loser who compulsively diarrhea twitters when his panties get in a bunch.

On campaign trail, Biden keeps his hands to himself
