But so is the antisemitism coming from the left. Why would some on the left in the US (particularly some members of the Squad) model Corbyn type of liberal antisemitism here in the US? Why must the extreme left meet with the extreme right in blaming one religion or group?

I only disagree a bit on Fiona Hill.

She came up through the generally progressive Brookings Institution. There was questioning at the time....as in why in the hell did Grump nominate her?

This aside from the fact that she more-then-qualified....this not being in line with this admin's proclivities. Whatever, her official political affiliation might be (I don't know), she stayed on as long as she did partly because she intensely disliked Grump's bromance with Putin.

I'd be more than happy to find out that she considers herself to be a Republican.

FWIW foreign policy types have disagreements and cleavages between their respective schools of thought, but they don't necessarily conform to Dem-Rep or liberal-conservative divides. Political theory generally has to do with the nature of man, the nature of the state, and the relationship between them (what it is and what it should be). International relations types have different fundamental philosophical questions to grapple with, namely the nature of states and their relationships in a quasi-anarchic system with no overarching authority. I spent several years in DC, a couple of which were spent at CSIS (a ForPol think tank), and I never really knew the party affiliations any of the people I worked with or for. All were dedicated to serving what they saw as fundamental American security interests.

Do Fiona Hill and David Holmes seem like members of the Squad or isolationists like Sanders and Warren?

If anything, they seem like what the true Republicans used to be - fighting for strong America against enemies like the Russians and fighting for free trade/markets and robust immigration from the isolationists who would blame all evils on military spending, US fighting for what is right on a global scale, and free trade/robust legal immigration policies. You seem to forget the liberals like Sanders have always been isolationists.

Nunes/Jordan are Trump *****s who have besmirched the conservative moral center. That does not mean that Fiona Hill and David Holmes are representatives of the left. If anything, the left would have hated them in the past. They just like them now because they are against Trump (which I am as well - but that does not mean I have delusions about the progressives or socialists).

OK, so I stated in my post (as I have almost every opportunity - including even before the 2016 election - in fact voting for Hillary over Trump) that I am opposed to Trump. And you claim that I believe anyone who opposes Trump must be a left winger? So, in your view, you think I see myself as a left winger?

No, comparing the diplomats who bravely represent our interest with political hacks like Nunes and Jordan (forget Giuliani - I don't even know what species he is) is meaningless. Who was comparing those two groups anyway? Now, comparing the Squad with the Nunes/Jordan - that would be a fair comparison of political hacks.

The last I check, the Democrats may actually nominate a candidate and they may actually win. But, you know, in your mind, the Republicans steer the ship from all three branches of the government, and the Democrats have no chance of ever getting their "hands on the levers of power".
