...The ridiculous blood on his hands hyperbole so many post on here is beyond rational discussion....

"The researchers compared the coronavirus response of the U.S. to that of six other countries South Korea, Japan, Australia, Germany, Canada, and France and found that the American government's response to the pandemic rated unfavorably against them all.

The U.S. has suffered a COVID-19 fatality rate more than double that of Canada and 50 times that of Japan. Extrapolating from the deaths per 100,000 people in each country, the researchers estimated how the U.S. might have fared had it followed the example of a more robust response. The answer: always better than it did in reality.

"If the U.S. had followed Canadian policies and protocols, there might have only been 85,192 U.S. deathsmaking more than 132,500 American deaths 'avoidable.'

If the U.S. response had mirrored that of Germany, the U.S. may have only had 38,457 deathsleaving 179,260 avoidable deaths," the researchers wrote......

We should model ourselves on the best. We should be the best," Redlener said. "We have the resources, the economy, the scientific expertise to do this the right way. We're facing a lethal pandemic, and we had very misguided leadership that chose to berate the purveyors of masks and social distancing. The president himself became a superspreader. He has blood on his hands....

Researchers cite several well-known but catastrophic factors that plagued the U.S. response: insufficient testing, delayed lockdowns, a lack of a unified federal response, and a failure to mandate non-medical interventions like masks and social distancing.

American leaders, the researchers wrote, have shown a "failure to model best practices," especially wearing masks during public appearances."

Report: "130,000 210,000 AVOIDABLE COVID-19 DEATHS AND COUNTING IN THE U.S."

Jeffrey Sachs, one of the authors of this study, is personally more responsible for covid deaths than Trump. "Shock Doctrine" Sachs has been Gov. Cuomo's chief health policy advisor. His "shock therapy" policies have been recently implemented by Cuomo, and the number of hospital and ICU beds in NY was slashed per Sachs' recommendations, one of the main reasons NY had the worst covid crisis in the planet...

He's also wrong about France, Macron's government handling of the crisis is far worse than Trump's, Trudeau's no better. Western Canada did well because they've managed their retirement home situation quite well early on, but places like Quebec were a complete disaster, on par with NY/NJ.

Jeffrey Sachs is pure neoliberal scum and a freaking hypocrite, whose work has left a long trail of economic devastation from Latin America to Eastern Europe to Africa. I'm not sure if there is another American academic that is personally responsible for more deaths and misery than Jeffrey Sachs, other than John Yoo, maybe.

OP is right though, Trump is going to win. Trump is going to carry FL easily and hold on to much of the Midwest. The polls are rigged, once again. Smarter Dems with a better perspective like Michael Moore, who knows what is going on in MI have called out the BS with the polling and gaslighting that is eerily similar to 2016.

At this point, seeing where we're at and hearing his lame schtick for four years, even the 40-45% of the vote that Trump is going to get is some crazy-ass s***. That he would garner even 30% of the vote in this once-proud nation is astounding and embarrassing.

Abraham Lincoln was still more unpopular after helping to set Democrat owned slaves free.

When was it a once proud nation? If you're a Democrat, we were never a once proud nation. We're a racist nation now and we were a nation of slaves previously when the Democrat owned them.

Your opinion of Dr. Scott Atlas with regard to his analysis of the pandemic and the basis of your opinion? Thank you.

Well, you have said things to discredit the authors of the Columbia University report and pointed out what you believe to be a factual error (" He's also wrong about France, Macron's government handling of the crisis is far worse than Trump's, Trudeau's no better.").

Is it your opinion that these conclusions from the report are also erroneous and if so, your basis:

1. What about the report's conclusions regarding how South Korea, Japan, Australia, Germany handled the pandemic?

2. " We're facing a lethal pandemic, and we had very misguided leadership that chose to berate the purveyors of masks and social distancing. The president himself became a superspreader."

3. " Researchers cite several well-known but catastrophic factors that plagued the U.S. response: insufficient testing, delayed lockdowns, a lack of a unified federal response, and a failure to mandate non-medical interventions like masks and social distancing."

4. " American leaders, the researchers wrote, have shown a "failure to model best practices," especially wearing masks during public appearances."

Thank you.

Lol. You're comparing Ivanka to Hunter?

Ivanka has been a TV star for 2 decades. You're comparing her fame with that of Hunter Biden, whom we barely knew existed until a year or so ago, and whose voice we've barely ever heard.

Here's Ivanka on HBO in 2003:

On Kimmel in 2007 with Andy Dick, who was booted off the show for touching her.

With Conan, with Letterman, with Howard Stern from the Bush era

" Four more years of a president without shame, backed by a party without spine, amplified by a TV network without integrity, and the cancer will be in the bones of every institution that has made America America....

.... Re-electing Trump would mean that a significant number of Americans don't cherish the norms that give our Constitution meaning, don't appreciate the need for an independent, professional Civil Service, don't respect scientists, don't hunger for national unity, don't care if a president tells 20,000 lies in short, don't care about what has actually made America great and different from any other great power in history....

... America goes dark, if the message broadcast by the Statue of Liberty shifts from "give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free" to "get the hell off my lawn"; if America becomes just as cynically transactional in all its foreign dealings as Russia and China; if foreigners stop believing that there is somewhere over the rainbow where truth is still held sacred in news reporting and where justice is the norm in most of the courts, then the whole world will get darker. Those who have looked to us for inspiration will have no widely respected reference point against which to critique their own governments.

Authoritarian leaders all over the world in Turkey, China, Russia, Poland, Hungary, the Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Brazil and elsewhere already smell this. They have been emboldened by the Trump years. They know they're freer to assassinate, poison, jail, torture and censor whomever they want, without reproach from America, as long as they flatter Trump or buy our arms...."

No. Just that woman in particular. What I don't like about her has nothing to with sex or gender. She is an unintelligent and unpleasant person. Nepotism and plastic surgery make her what she is today, not brains and talent. Again: none of that has anything to do with her being a woman.

  • Enthusiasm on the ground. In pretty much every state in the country, there are big Trump rallies, parades, flotillas and signs everywhere.
  • Trump's nonstop campaigning, keeping enthusiasm high among Trump voters and winning over people in the middle. He's working 2-3 rallies in key states most every day, with consistently strong turnouts.
  • Republicans have added hundreds of thousands of new registered voters in key battleground states. Trump drew in a large number of voters who hadn't voted in a long time or at all and that's only increased substantially.
  • No enthusiasm for Biden. No one goes to his rallies and he's not inspiring anyone. He's the anti-Trump candidate. Harris is not very likeable either, and she didn't gain any traction in the primaries.
  • Violent protests and calls to defund the police or the actual defunding of police. This does not play well with much of America.
  • A demographic shift, where more and more black and latino voters are coming around to the republican party. That would've never happened if the party hadn't significantly changed from the stereotypical country club party to a much more inclusive party. The republican convention wasn't a mirage. The party has moved significantly, to the point where the dominant majority of black and latino voters may not flock to vote democratic in years to come. It could be a seismic shift.
  • The democratic platform is too big an overreach. The dominant majority of the country does not want no fossil fuels or anything approaching the green new deal or MFA. Any form of socialism is not popular with much of the country. After Dukakis lost a huge lead and got crushed, just like Mondale, the party intelligentsia came together and realized that the Mondale/Dukakis brand of politics was not what America was looking for and a totally different brand of democratic politician captured the nomination and won back the white house in the next election in Clinton. I believe the dems will have to rebrand and move away from the radical AOC platform style and go more mainstream to retake the white house.
  • The Biden scandals might've been the last nail in the coffin. There's lots of evidence that Hunter was just the conduit for the money that flowed from Russia, Ukraine and China to the Biden pockets. Most here outright reject it but there's been too much compelling evidence put forth for much of the country to reject it. Disagree all you want but that seems to be the case.
  • I think Trump will have a definitive electoral college victory and could quite possibly win the popular vote, too. I realize these opinions run completely counter to what the mainstream media and the pollsters have put out so it probably sounds like crazy talk here but anyone paying attention to pretty much anything outside of the networks, CNN and MSNBC won't be surprised if things play out this way.

You forgot: "plus i want him to win and no matter what was happening in the world I would have made a list like this."

There was exactly one person in that thread predicting it. No one I knew was very confident going into that election.

I know I'll take heaps of abuse if I'm wrong but I'm not being cocky or guaranteeing a win for Trump. I'm just going out on a limb and telling people what I think will happen and why.

And if he loses will you accept that he lost and that the people have spoken?

And if the country stops being less hateful and tense under Biden, except on tv/radio rants by right wing personalities, will you acknowledge that is a good thing?

And as Trump's crimes are shown to be true and prosecuted will you see he was fraudulent and crooked or believe this is a deep state misinformation hit job?

And as COVID gets handled and the economy recovers and racial tensions diminish, these will be good things that you support and give credit to, or will you complain and undermine because your guy failed?

Will you be glad to see our status in the world recover and alliance with allies heal, or will you think our relationship with dictators is suffering?

Will you support this president and wish what is best for America or pine for failure and your next demagogue?

RWNJ's hate the racism / sexism conversation because they truly have no idea what those things are.

A woman can be dumb. That isn't sexism. I talked with a guy who did some business with Ivanka years ago. Said she had nothing to say. He interpreted it as her not having a clue and her handlers doing the real work. She's just a brand name - and one she didn't create.

Still in bad taste, though.
